Maria Kim, probably. The other half could be wild.

That would definitely be the safe bet.

Jelena possibly being replaced with Nadia if she runs out of steam.

Could be. But Jelena got very smooth draw in the first three rounds.

Just like how I thought the semis lineup would be before the draw...but that bottom half is so much weaker than the top imo.

The top half is not that great either.

Overall, Sharapova, Mauresmo, Clijsters and Jankovic look so much stronger than other girls at the moment :tape:

I predict Jelena Jankovic or Nicole Vaidisova out of the Bottom Draw.

I think Maria/Kim for sure, if both play like they should...
Bottom half I think Jankovic & Dementieva (she has a very good draw & I just have a feeling Mauresmo will feel the pressure and fall short of expectations)

Bottom quarter, I say either Amelie if it is an Amelie-Lena D QF or Nicole if it is a Nicole-Amelie QF

You know what - Jankovic is not going to the semis - she has great things ahead of her but instinct tell me there's about to be drama in that section.

Drama also appears to be brewing in the Mauresmo draw.

Sharapova, Clijsters, Hingis, Safina, Schnyder IMO is better than Mauresmo and the russian dwarves. Kuznetsova should, SHOULD make the QF's and possibly the semifinals, I think she is due for a good slam. Mauresmo's got a ridiculous quarter, but Id like it if Nicole came through.

Who knows right? could be...especially if she wins over Kim today and isn't too tired for the AO.

And I don't think her draw is not a walk in the park with Serena, Jelena, Dementieva, Vaidisova, Petrova and Kuznetsova in it.

why people name dementieva like a possible quarterfinalist i mean her best result in AO is 4th round:rolleyes:

martina is going to surprise everyone beating kim in the quarter:drool:

maria has a safe draw she should make the semis
jelena kuzzy and nadia (and serena:rolleyes: ) are going to fight the most among the players i think

momo will not pass nikkie:wavey:

Mauresmo just got bageled by Jankovic and pushed to three by Golovin. She admitted to feeling unprepared for Oz. That means she is low on confidence. I would be very surprised if she made the semi-finals. Nicole played very well this week. I think she should be able to make the quarters, and I'd pick her for the semi-finals.

Logically, Kim should beat Martina, and Martina probably won't even get past Mirza and Safina. However, I just have this idea that Martina is going to make the semis.

Still, if I had to bet, I would say Maria, Kim, Jelena and Nicole. I think Jelena will get to the final (and lose,) but I'm not sure whether Kim or Maria will win what promises to be an epic semi-final.

Mauresmo has had bad draws recently, so it's not surprising her luck turned around here. Great draw for her, I'd be surprised if she didn't make the Semis. Maria should also have a pretty straightforward path to the Semis.

No way Jankovic makes the semi's, she has played too much tennis. Petrova has a very good draw in that quarter and i think she'll play the Peer/Golovin winner for that SF spot.

In the bottom quarter, it's a good chance of a Vaidisova vs Mauresmo QF, which is a tough pick.

Hingis fans had better forget about Clisters, and start praying Martina gets past the Safina/Li winner in R16.

Sharapova could stumble over Zvonareva/Radwanska/Ivanovic or Chakvetadze/Pennetta/Molik before being handed a resounding defeat by Kimmie.

Because she's a good player and can get on a hot streak. Her 2004 Roland Garros was a fluke, but it was still a final appearance. The same can happen in Melbourne. Also, she's 25. Who says she's never going to get past the fourth round ever?

That said, she probably won't make it past the second or third round. I'd bet on a Nicole/Mauresmo quarterfinal.

oh please...
All these six could easily lose in the first two rounds, let alone each of them would be trashed by Sharapova.

No worries, Na Li will get her revenge and kill Clijsters in her quarter:lol:

Vaidisova - Mauresmo

I think Amelie's confidence will come back quickly. She has a GREAT draw. Perry will be a good first test, and then I see no real roadblocks until Schiavone (who beat her in Fed Cup last year). The QF will most certainly be Momo vs. Lena D. -OR- Momo vs. Vaidisova.

I'm predicting a TENSE Mauresmo-Dementieva QF that gives Amelie a BIG dose of confidence.

Maria is a sure bet. So do Jelena. Kim will join them if she can resist the challenge by Martina and Sania.

I'm not very certain about Mauresmo though... her form is quite shaky at best these few weeks.

Oh, wait, did I forget to mention that Kuzzi is gonna get over this whole flu-thing and win the whole damned tournament?

I didn't?

Well, she is.
