The court surface will be a little bit quicker which kim will adore, its a wonder why she hasnt won the oz by now because a few years age Lleyton Hewitt and kim clijsters used to train at the aussie about 2-3 months before the event started. But injuries always have kept her back from taking the oz title. But she hasnt had too much of a break this year as she has been training solid now since pretty much the YEC since she missed such a good good gap at the american hardcourt swing and indoor season, and now she seems ready to at last take the title please god i hope her wrist holds up for another 6 months. Please let it be a sharapova-clijsters final HOW EXCITING WOULD THAT BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that would be really exciting!! Setting your clock at the middle of the night alone, is exciting!
But for one reason or the other I don't think it will be a Clijsters-Sharapova final.

I donīt think Clijsters will win, maybe she can win, but Sharapovaīs Desire of winning will make her win the title, if itīs not Sharapova, i think it will be other player, because despite Clijsters being in good form i think she wonīt win... in my opinion the winner will be Sharapova or this time we will have a surprise...

Well there are other players that also likes quicker courts :)
So I don't think that Kim will have some great benefits of it...

She hot contender... I would like to see her with a trophy. She deserves it ;)

 I didn't know Sharapova was the only player who had the desire to win.

I think this year it will be a massive show-down of form. I just hope we'll have a semis lineup that consists of Clijsters, Jankovic, Sharapova and Hingis. That may seem initially a boring lineup but you can assured of some excellent tennis from these players... and that's what I want to see; drama, beautiful tennis, skill, power and form.

well after end of yr champs I said If CLijsters is fit and training hard I really think she ll win oz and I am sticking by it - would love a clijsters Sharapova final! but lets not get ahead of ourselves there are many girls who can cause big upsets on any given day!

I hope she can get it, I do. But to be honest, I'm a bit too biased to say she'll fucking win. I'm knocking on wood she keeps her form. But the possibility is there, and she really wants to win Australia, she loves the tournament :)

Faster courts pretty much suit all of the contenders not just Kim and suit others probably more

I prefer Hingis but Kim is the 3rd player I want to see winning AO.

 or Kim the only one to benefit from quicker courts?

gosh, if you are gonna nitpick...:o

Anyway, to the threadstarter, the quicker court theory is still questionable. Dig up some recent articles, the men (roddick and federer for ex.) have said they don't feel a change from last year's surface...meaning they don't feel it's any quicker.

Hmmm...I just can't see it. I have no idea who's going to win. The field is so wide open. But I feel like this is the year the guard's gonna change. It should be interesting.

I would love it if Kim won. I'd like a Kim/Serena final with Kim winning in 3 close sets. Dream on I know!

I think her desire is going to be huge this year.. final year in for years what was her home slam in front of an adoring crowd on a surface she loves.. make way for GS no. 2 Kim..

Federer and Safin both said the surface was the same like in past years

Ohh! everyone knows that Sharapova is one of the most determined players... Clijsters also has been that, but not recently. Clijsters didnīt seem too motivated the last times i saw her, but because its her last year in the tour maybe she will play more motivated. All the players have the desire to win, but in my opinion Sharapova is some levels in front of the others in terms of desire of winning...just that
