I have a few questions about The Tennis Channel

What countries is it shown in?

How much does it cost?

Does it show just tennis?

Can you choose which matches you want to watch?

When did it become available?

Thanks ...

I have a few questions about The Tennis Channel
(I have cable and it is part of my cable package)
What countries is it shown in?
(I live in the USA, not sure if it is shown in other countries.)
How much does it cost?
(It does not cost me extra is part of the channel line up.)
Does it show just tennis?
(No it shows other racquet sports, such as squash and badminton but not much. It does show much live tennis at all.)
Can you choose which matches you want to watch?
(No.)
When did it become available?
(I have had it over a year now but it’s been around for a while.)

Availability and pricing depends on your cable system. It appears, given prior discussions here, that it is available to a smaller number of households than ESPN2 here in the US. I'm not sure if TTC is available internationally.

As a Bright House subscriber here in the US, I pay $1.95 a month in addition to "basic" digital cable for a 4-channel sports package that includes TTC plus three others I never watch.

You have no option to watch particular matches. Coverage of men's events is more extensive than women's. Last year, I believe that 13 WTA events were covered, most of them only from the SF stage onward. The matches that do air are repeated several times in quick succession.

All in all, if you have to pay a substantial amount to add it, I wouldn't. For $1.95 a month, I guess it's worth it.

Incidentally, the tennis channel website now has a TV schedule up--at least for the first part of the year:
