Serena vs Vaidisova- Vaidisova (she is in good form)
Serena vs Jankovic- Jankovic (she is in good form)
Serena vs Hingis- Hingis (she likes RA)
Serena vs Safina- Safina slight edge (she is in better shape which is very important in Melbourne
Serena vs Mirza- Serena (she would probably outsmart Mirza)
Serena vs Peer- Not sure (I don't know which style would win)
Serena vs Golovin- Not sure (I don't know which style would win/how Tatiana recovers from loss to Mauresmo)
Serena vs Ivanovic- Serena (slight mental edge from USO)

Obviously you are really bitter about all of the ass-whoopings that the Williams sisters gave Hingis.. which one?

Vaidisova (could go to either, I think Vaidisova would win if the match went long)
Jankovic (again either, I favour Serena a little more)
Hingis (definately Serena)
Safina (most likely Safina)
Mirza (depends on how Mirza is playing and how far she goes in Hobart)
Peer (either way, Serena slight favourite)
Golovin (Serena)
Ivanovic (either way, but USO suggests Serena)

Nicole Vaidisova - Serena would lose to her in two!
Jelena Janković - Serena would lose to her in two!
Martina Hingis - Serena would lose to her in two!
Dinara Safina - This could go either way, but I see Dinara winning in three!
Sania Mirza - Serena would win this one. Two sets probably
Shahar Peer - Coul give Serena a run for her money. Three set match, not sure who wins
Tatiana Golovin - With her's stupid OVERSIZED racquet she will not beat Serena!!! Just joking, but that racquet is really :help: This could go either way.
Ana Ivanović - She is a bit :scared: of SW, and I don't have idea why  I think that Serena would win in two. But if Ana gets hers courage, she could easily win it ;)

actually Serena won their last 3 matches, 6 sets to 1

Hingis has 3 straight set wins over Serena, while Serena has 5 over Martina
Serena bagelled Martina twice, Serena's never been bageled my Martina :wavey:
And in GS Finals, Serena leads 1-0, Serena's UNDEFEATED against Hingis in semis, and she's 1-1 in overall finals (inc a retirement)

and it's heifer :wavey:

Unimportant. The REAL question is: Who would win between Serena Williams and Alexandra Stevenson? It seems impossible that either one would lose! I mean, Serena never loses- she only beats herself- and Alex never loses- she only retires.

It's interesting that Martina was always the better ranked player in theirs encounters... I didn't know that

Still they are at 7-6 for Serena. It's not like it's 10-1 or something  And there is still time for tons of new matches...I hope so :)

Well if you wanna go that way, Hingis at just one year older has 46 titles, while Serena has 26... And currently Hingis is after one year on tour (after that break) world NO 7., while Serena is 94.

It's stupid to compare. Everyone has it's "better sides"

Vaidisova - Serena in 3...Nikki still chokes sometimes
Jankovic - Serena in 3...she won't lose to her 2 times in a row (3 if you count the ret.)
Hingis - Serena in 3...Martina can't handle the big hitters (and Serena won their last 3 matches)
Safina - Serena in 2
Mirza - Serena in 2
Peer - Serena in 2
Golovin - Serena in 3
Ivanovic - Serena in 2

say what you want, but based on the way she fought against Safarova, she showed that she can fight her way out of any match. None of these players are going to hit her off of a court. If she loses any of them, she'll have more UE than her opponent has winners, so all of those matches are really in Serena's hands  if she keeps improving, I could see her winning most of those matches in 2...but that's a while's away.

i think serena would have a chance of beating most of those players... depending on how good they were playing... i dont think she could beat jankovic yet, and shed have a tough time vs ivanvoc/hingis/vaidisova

tennisjunky
Jan 10th, 2007, 02:15 AM
serena beats:
Hingis- serena will eat her for breakfast
Safina- serena does everything better
Mirza- too inconsistent, but if she's on she could be tough
Ivanovic- she has the power to beat serena but not the speed

Serena right now would struggle against:
Vaidisova

Could go either way against real quick players that cover the court well and also hit hard:
Peer
Golovin- she would have to play the match of her life, but a lot of players do when the play serena
Jankovic

I agree with this. The only player on this list that I would bet against Serena for, would be Jankovic. And not because I think she's the better player, but because last time they played, Jankovic definitely exploited Serena's lack of fitness, by playing fast and hitting consistently deep. I think if Serena ever bothered to really get in shape, she'd have little, if any, problems with any of these ladies.

Well Same is also true for mirza :wavey: does it mean every matchis in her hands??There is also something likedrawing errors from opponents or playing smart!!If Serena is making errors off FH play her FH more in the match. If someone ploys these tactics, itsboundto drawheaps oferrors from renaand this doesntmake herin charge of the match does it??.Also I havnt seen her play thisyr but her court coverage was below par by her standards last year!! Itall depends on how fit shes coz her speed was a bigg partof herwinning gameand I dunno ifits backwith her yet!!I think at this point someone like golovin, hingis.janko would definately have serenas number!!

well I mean, you statement is fundamentally true, but Serena's proven that she can play at a high level for a sutatined period of time (7 majors 9 overall GS finals) no one else can say that...so I mean, more than anyone else, matches really ARE in her hands, I mean if Mirza can keep that game level up, then you can say that.
