The DVD release is expected to follow in the spring, along with a new Showgirl photographic book being compiled (and photographed by) William Baker. It also looks highly likely that this will coincide with a new single from Kylie, with her new studio album currently scheduled for autumn.

Possibily the most exciting news of the last few weeks is that Kylie will be putting on what sounds like an amazing night for UK fans by playing a very special concert on New Year's Eve at London's Wembley Arena. Tickets went on sale yesterday but, sadly, are already sold out!!

"I am so happy to be back on stage [in the UK]" says Kylie about the extra special gig. "I've been to some great New Year's parties over the years and I can't wait to host what will be the biggest party of all!"

The show starts at 8pm and continues until midnight, giving fans the opportunity to see in the new year with Kylie. Bjorn Again will feature as special guests – the perfect band for a party of this stature! Fans can dance their way into 2007 with a specially created 3,500 capacity dance floor. After the show, the bars and catering at Wembley will be open until 1am.

Looking forward to 2007, The Kylie Exhibition at last arrives on UK shores in February, and opens at London's Victoria and Albert Museum on February 8th.

ALSO...the Showgirl Homecoming tour is coming to the end of it's Australian leg, with the final show happening this weekend in Melbourne. Reaction to the show has been amazing, with the crowds leaving the arena bursting with praise after each show. The recording for TV and DVD is now 'in the can' with the nights of the 10th and 11th, again in Melbourne, having been filmed - the 11th for the main bulk of footage, and the 10th for pick-ups and additional crowd footage. We were sad to hear that Kylie didn't perform her now regular 'extras' of a few verses of excluded songs such as Got To Be Certain (one of the very few singles never to have been performed live in recent years... in fact we make it about 15 years...) and her 'The Only Way Is Up' intro to 'I Should Be So Lucky'. She did do these on the 10th though, so we'll hopefully get them on the DVD somewhere!

As we reported quite a while back, Showgirl Homecoming is due to be broadcast in January on TV. Channel 4 have secured exclusive UK rights to broadcast the show, and will first be broadcast on Channel 4 in January 2007, with an additional showing shortly after on E4. Bill Lord and Terry Blamey are executive producers of 'Kylie Showgirl Homecoming Tour' with Marcus Viner as producer and William Baker as director.

"Kylie's Showgirl Tour concert was one of our music highlights in 2005, and so we are delighted that Kylie's spectacular return to the stage will again be broadcast on C4, bringing this emotional journey to a close" says Jules Oldroyd, Head of Scheduling, T4 and Music at C4.

And some other Kylie TV to watch out for in the UK over Christmas:

Sat 23rd Dec BBC 2 7.40pm - TOTP 2 Xmas Special (Santa Baby performance from 2000)
Sun 31st Dec Biography Channel 5pm - Showgirl Tour (Original Show)
Sun 31st Dec ITV 10pm - I Was There People's Review 2006 (Homecoming report)
Mon 1st Jan Sky One 3pm - The Kylie Interview (repeat)

Melbourne meets the Minogue 'kids'...

Saturday 16th December '06

Kylie treated her audience to a second special guest star at last night's Homecoming gig. Any guesses who it could have been?

After far too long a time, Kylie was last night (Saturday, Australian time) joined on stage by sister Dannii to perform 'Kids'. Wearing a matching D&G bodice, the gathered Melbourne (the Minogue's hometown) crowd went crazy as Kylie's little sis took to the stage. Speculation was that Robbie Williams would be joining her for the song, but we think Dannii was by far the best choice! But who else might we see 'kidding' it with Kylie when she hits the UK in a couple of weeks time? More special guests are planned, and bets are on for who they will be. And will Robbie make an appearance at the final show on Sunday?

Last night's show also featured a couple of other special extras. As this show was originally scheduled for Kylie's birthday last year, the audience took it upon themselves to sing 'Happy Birthday' to her, and she loved it! Kylie sang the song herself again later, but this time for her 'Nana', who was in the audience along with the rest of the Minogue clan. Bless!

Here's a pic of Kylie and Dannii performing 'Kids' on stage last night. It's the first time they've sang publicly together since they were kids :

Thanks for all the info.

Caught one of the concerts in Sydney - her best yet!

So many classic songs. Shame she sang kids on her own though. But it was the night she had technical trouble for about 10 minutes. She just walked around the stage asking the audience for requests. She sang what she could remember of each of them. Very nice to hear her without music.

OMG I WAS THERE LAST NIGHT WHEN DANNII WAS THERE!!

The crowd went crazy!!! Some people sort of expected Robbie Williams but we got Dannii instead, which is better coz Dannii's awesome and Robbie's a dick with a scary hairy ass.

The show really is amazing, and I can't wait to buy the DVD of it!

Nope no photos - sorry.

Was no where near close enough to take any anyway. In amongst 20,000 other fans. ;)

HDFanboy - you are very very lucky. I have wanted to see Kylie/Dannii perform together for so long. Oh well. Hopefully this performance will be on the DVD. :D

Dannii was just amazing on Saturday!! Apparently it was the first time they had performed together since they were kids.... so I'm stoked I got to see it!!

Dannii appeared on Sunday night once again! Befitting for Kylie's last Australian tour date for the year.
