Okay there have been rumours that the OC was canceled but I am happy to report that they are just rumours, however the ratings for season 4 have been pretty low. Since Marisa Cooper was killed and since the third season turned into crap, people have been tuning out. Season 4 is better, (and with each episode a little more of the fan base is returning) much better and possibly the best season since the first one. Everyone needs to give the OC a chance its a great show that has been maturing of late so keep watching or better yet start watching.;)

Is The O.C. Canceled? I've Got the Answer!

The O.C. is canceled! The O.C. is canceled! The sky is falling!

Not. (Sorry, just had to employ a little Borat-ish non-humor there. And yes, I am well aware this is no laughing matter.)

Here’s the dealio. I, too, have been hearing the rumors in the past two days that The O.C. has been canceled. And I doggy-doo you not, just a few hours ago, I just so happened to (literally) run into executive producer McG—while reading an email from a concerned O.C. fan! How nutso is that? I was clicking away on my CrackBerry, waiting at the valet after lunch with a source, when I bumped into McG, who was headed for the Burberry store.

Naturally, I pounced for info, and McG (who is always cordial, even in such stalkery moments), told me, "No, we aren’t canceled. We hope we aren’t canceled! We are just waiting to find out if we’ll have 16 or 22 episodes this year."

Good news, no? And after such great success with my serendipitous curbside stalkage, I decided to cyberstalk executive producer Josh Schwartz just to be sure. Here’s what Schwartz tells me via email:

"I guess one of our cameramen spoke to his local hometown paper in Montana and said his last day of work was Wednesday, which then became (through the power of the Internet) the show was being shut down this week. Not true.

"The song remains the same. We were ordered for 16, and that's what we're doing. We're having a great time making the show this year, and the response to this season's episodes has been unbelievably gratifying and rewarding. I think the rest of the season will continue to deliver for our fans; we've got a lot of fun stuff in store so keep watching (or...start watching!). Thanks."

So, there you have it. The O.C. is not canceled—yet. But you should be advised that it very well could be if you don’t start watching soon. And I still contend this season truly is better than ever. So, start watching, will ya? Please? Pretty please? With Ryan and Taylor on top?

I don't know how long this show lasted as it goes up against Grey's Anatomy and CSI in same timeslot.

series 3 was dire in the end so i'll porb not watch.

One Tree Hill is just so much better but gets worse ratings.

I am liking season 4, especially now that Taylor has been allowed to become hot. Certainly much hotter than boney old Marissa ever was.

I so agree. The OC started of good, but progressively got crappy until it turned into a borefest

One Tree Hill started out ok, but nothing special. But then they just kept building it up and building it up and it became great! I mean the second series was brilliant!!!! :worship:

Yeah the third series was even better. The episode in the school with the kid with the gun was brillaint and turned the series on its head. Wont tell you what happened in case you haven't seen it bu the last 8ish episodes of the series are top notch and another brill cliffhanger.

Season 4 is so much fun! Taylor is just amazing. She brings so much "freshness" to the show.

I have never watched the show and I probably never will, I don't want it to be cancelled though.
The show has one of the best soundtracks on television today after Grey's Anatomy.
I hope it stays on for a while but not enough to actually watch it.
Maybe I'll put on one of the other TVs to The OC and then watch something else downstairs.

Season 4  This season has been so, so, so much better than the last one, and probably season 2, but maybe not quite that. I loved the Chrismakk-huh? episode, that one was hilarious, if not a bit different and strange. But they are not trying so hard, and its working out so much better.

Taylor  Thank you for keeping this show good.
Rachel Bilson   Keep it up!
