OK so im desperate-basically im gonna be homeless between the 30th of December and the 5th of January, all the hostels are booked up apart from 1 which ive stayed at before and its a dump plus its 80 AUD a night!
so this is a long shot i know but do any of you happen to have a spare room in sydney? im willing to pay...

yeah im staying at the sydney central yha at the mo.

looks like im gonna have to find a hotel-i refuse to pay so much for that shit hostel (in kings cross i might add). the hotel will cost me more but hey i have standards...some anyway

btw does anyone know if the trains are running on the 31st december night-i wanna go to circular quay but im not sure how ill get back

Yip they run all night, so you can get home again;)

I would go to the Botanic Gardens so you have a view of the Bridge its much better than the Quay

Forget about it. Hostels are full except shitholes, and hotels are ridiculously expensive. Unless you're willing to pay 200 a night, you'll have to move temporary to another city. Though that other cities hostels are probably full too at this point.

Have you tried Formule 1 hotels. Not sure what area your looking for but they start at $59.00 per night. Casula's available but might be too far or you can stay afew nights there and then come closer into the city when they're available. www.cityrail.info will be able to tell you what you need to know about the trains ;)

I assume they will be running, but probably on the weekend timetable

llook up the y on the park hotel

it has backpacker rooms and sstuff i think..its not bad and the rooms r cheap..its in darlinghurst.
