Does anyone have any information if the WTA Tour provides medical coverage?
I was wondering with all these injuries on court if the medical expenses come from out of poket, or do players pay into their own policies?

The medical expenses come out of pocket. There is no way the WTA Tour could afford to pay for medical coverage for all of their players injured on tour.

I'm sure the WTA's medical coverage is limiteD to first aid and on-court trainers. Other than that I am sure the players would be responsible for paying out of pocket or arranging their own insurance.

What happens if a player outside the top 100 gets injured? They can't pay hospital bills. It would bankrupt her and her family.

There's a tour sponsored insurance plan, but the players have to Pay Premiums for it.

its called a Worldwide Medical, Dental, Vision and Disability Insurance.

Full Members of Tour pay about $1800 P.a.
Associate members around $3000 p.a.

they can get just a disability insurance for around $300 p.a. (for Full Members).

you can include your Spouse, Children in that insurance for additional sums.
