I understand players ranked in the top 100, even 200 not posting on wtaworld... but how come there are like no lower ranked wta players or hot prospect female juniors here?

if there are... tell me who lol.

Joachim1978
Dec 8th, 2006, 09:14 PM
I am sure that many of them do look here and other sites. The probably don't actually post, but it's always interesting to see what people are saying about you, and if you travel all year and spend a lot of time waiting to be called onto court, waiting for a practice session, waiting for the rain to top, then the internet can come in very handy....

True, they have so much down-time and presumably most have laptops or at least access to one. I know I've given links to this site to certain players (Zheng, Dushevina).

I'm pretty sure that a lot of players have glanced at this site. They're human, just like us, curious about what people think of them. I remember someone saying that Jelena Dokic looked once at the Sanex board and was so horrified by some of the Kim fans calling her DoBitch that she never came back!

goldenlox

The WTA does that. We don't really need that.
There have been chats, where we can ask questions of players, but really, you can't get in depth on topics in that kind of format.

I've seen plenty of player posts, and they just want to thank fans, they don't say much.

One reason players might not want to post here is because some fans here are too argumentative.
The writer, Matt Cronin just posted a few times, and a few Justine fans are trying to chase him away with personal insults.

He's a tennis writer.
There are so many posts, I can't imagine a player reading them.
I don't read most posts here. I choose a few threads that look interesting to me.
I ignore about 80% of GM threads, because it takes all day to read.
So I know players aren't reading much of it.
But they might scan around for a thread about them. Even that takes some time.

It's just too much to read. I barely get a look at non-tennis. I'm never in games. And besides Russian Roulette, I"m not in player forums.
The amount of material to read is like a book worth every day.

OK. And just speaking personally, I never hated any players, though I considered the Anna of this decade a parasite. (My posts dissing her here, etc. were basically to annoy her willing slaves).

Re. the Strange Suissie, its ironic that we're discussing this now. I originally turned on her and her future husband after their then PR agent (who took his orders from Rainer) jerked me around re. something business related in '03.

But just this week I found out that her estranged mother (who I considered a good friend) had lied to me on something unrelated to the game. So PP and Hoffy are off my "diss list".

Here's a post by LIOUDMILA SKAVRONSKAIA from June 2004 -

There have been lots of discussions in the WTA meetings about the SR seedings. It would probably take a while before the new rule comes in, but there is a suggestion to SR situation:a player can use her SR to get into the tournament, but cannot use SR to be seeded. There is a little downside to it, which I guess could be corrected by increasing the number of seeds in the draw.
Let's say Venus is out of Top-10 or is #9 or 10, and she is playing a tournament in San Diego-32 draw. All top-8 players are present, and there are only 8 seedings in the draw(since its a small size draw). Venus could play any of the seeded players as early as in the 1st round. I do not think that the tournament will be too happy with one of the top players eliminated in the 1st round.

Sarah, FYI Iris and I had developed a friendship which lasted 3 and a half years that eventually focused mostly on non-tennis subjects (especially political). In time I wound up giving her son Danny some help with how to research papers for college. And she got her neighbor Lynette Federer to get the latter's son Rogi to send a get well email to Brianna (Deuce Diva) a big fan of his, which was very nice.

So I was hurt and disappointed when I found out that Iris had misrepresented something to me (nothing to do with PP or either Rainer) that I'm not going to discuss. (And then wouldn't even admit it and explain why she had). But essentially its none of your fucking business who I know or why, thank you. (I raised the subject because as vogus, a critic of both sides has noted, I'd indeed posted for a long time like Willy and Iris were beyond reproach).

I honestly DO NOT CARE what she lied to you about - I just think you need to get over yourself and stop trying to sound like a big-shot Mr know everyone. Big deal, I was good friends with Danny for a couple of years before he moved...so what, I don't go around posting shit in every god damn thread on Patty about it - why do you feel the need to?

And honestly I don't care who you know, or why you know them, I just don't see why you feel the need to discuss Patty's family and Patty and Rainer CONSTANTLY on a messageboard where hardly any people actually know them. Especially when what you are talking about isn't even tennis related...
