I know it's getting annoying to see these two players names in the same threads, but i think it's a good question.

Since it looked like Jelena was on the right track by training with Pilic and now she's back YET again with Borna and Stevenson really hasn't done anything since her shoulder surgery i have to ask...

Which of these two players (PICK ONE...NOT BOTH AND NOT NEITHER OF THEM) should retire after everything that has happened to them or every wrong move they made since their last achievements in 2002?

Another way to approach this question is to ask yourself which one has the best chance of getting themselves in the top 20 or at the least the top 100?

Personally I would go with Stevenson. If she got her shoulder better I think she would get herself back. I know Dokic was a better player than Stevenson, but I think Stevenson has more motivation to comeback because it looks like Dokic makes all the wrong moves or doesn't make any moves at all. When i say she doesn't make any moves i mean as far as not playing much throughout the year.

IMO Stevenson could at least get back inside the top 100.

Stevenson should retire. What motivation? She's at least 15 pounds overweight.

Dokic is in shape. Honestly she should have just played some Teir III and IV in doubles during the fall.
If she would have asked pretty much anyone at one of those tournis, they would have played with her.
She's a former top 10 player in doubles.
Once she works on her net game and gets some confidence back, things will get better.

Sorry don't know how to create one. I tried to, but nothing happened. In this case it doesn't look like i need to create one anyway as it looks like Stevenson has every vote, but mine.

yes you are right about how she should go about getting back to the top. well said. but the overweight comment is a little unfair.

Proven by the fact that Lexy was
down and still beat her at Wimbldon. ;)

Dokic ain't got squat on
Sexy Lexy!

Atleast Lexy shows up to play and give
either one good set or so before retiring.

Go Bye Bye Dokic! :wavey:

They both have different weird issues. Alex refuses to get fit and retired from every match she plays. Jelena at times seems commited than at times seems like she couldnt care less.

But because Jelena has more game than Alex and actually has the potential to do something more with her career if things fell into place, I'd pick Stevenson to retire if I had to select one. But ideally I'd prefer it if they both kept playing. Always entertaining hearing about their endeavours, despite how pathetic they may be. LOL.

I guess another issue to consider is age. Dokic is 23 and Stevenson is 26. Dokic has a few more years left in her, if she actually plays that is.

I can see why so many of you voted for Stevenson to retire. Dokic has more potential than Stevenson. The reason i voted for Dokic to retire instead of Stevenson is because at least Stevenson doesn't put her fans (and i know there's few) through hell by going back with the wrong people or appearing to get herself on track and then suddenly disappear for months due to "injury" or lack of motivation like Dokic does. Although i'm not saying Samantha is the best coach in the world so don't take this the wrong way.
