well this just shows that even if you have the highest ranked players, you may not win if you do not use the right strategy :o

Chinese Coach Jiang's strategy was wrong from the beginning when he substituted an injured Jie Zheng for Peng Shuai in the opening singles match ... then Na Li had to play Iroda with the pressure of knowing that if she lost, China will be out of the team competition  and frankly, that was too much pressure for her :tape:

the Chinese Media will have a FIELD DAY with this  ... I can see the headline: "Dream Team Chokes Against Uzbeks In Opening Match" :help:

congrats to Iroda for playing a great match :worship: good luck against Sania Mirza tommorrow in the SF

Na, please rest up for the Woman's Singles tournament

sigh. Top seed crashing out always makes people happy ;)
I really don't like the idea that let zheng jie play instead of Peng shuai. Zheng jie has her double match to play in both team and doubles, and singles, and she is injured. Poor Peng shuai, now she even can't get chance to play at all in this event.
I expected we got a gold medal... now I hope we can get woman's doubles as expected. Any good luck in singles.

Iroda!! :D :D That's great!!!

Some of you guys are being pretty mean to Na. She's very talented, what she's managed to do in a very little time is amazing. I don't know if she's top 10 material but she's still a very good player who can force top players to show up their best tennis. I'm sorry for you but she might go up in the rankings since she doesn't have many points to defend at the beginning of the year.

Exactly. I really had to do that being a fan of Amy Frazier. People are just plain mean sometimes. I use to go back and tear apart there faves . But.. that is not fair since the rest of there fans would feel bad from those comments. Some people just need to grow up and know that the players they support have there appearence, performance and athletic flaws aswell. You do not like to hear mean spirited comments about your faves. I cant imagine Na beating Kim 60 64 like Iroda has before. ;)

Iroda is a good player and her ranking is due to many years of injury. Iroda is on her way up again and this win shows that she is capable of getting back into the top 50 pretty soon. Give credit to a player who has suffered many injuries and is finally playing at her level again. Well done Iroda! I kinda agree Na would be under alot more pressure being top seeds and since China dominate these games normally she would be pretty dissappointed. Atleast its one less gold for the chinese

Firstly, Iroda hasn't played as many tournaments as Na Li and Jie Zheng this year as she has been injured for the majority of the first half of the year and since October Iroda has actually played more tournaments then Na and Jie.

Secondly, I don't think Tian Tian would win a match between herself and Iroda easily, conisdering Iroda beat her the last time they played in straight sets about 2 months ago.

I have no problem with Na losing.; you entirely miss the point I assume from too much testosterone or a bad upbringing. It is the words and actions of people like yourself that make the world an ugly place and that is what I speak out against.

:haha:

your right i did miss the point...maybe its not because you were upset na lost
we both know that you are attacking me right now because i have some conservative views, its as simple as that
grow a pair (or some testosterone):p and admit it
me and you got along fine until election night but damn can you hold a serious grudge

back to the intial matter there was nothing wrong with me saying i think it will be funny when na falls down the ranking
so you all need to grow up:kiss:

Frazier: I'm not sure you read in detail enough to see what you are writing. It is the same person who you are agreeing with who is doing what you - and I - complain against.

no im pretty sure hes complaining about people like you who dont know how to deal with their faves losing
read it again ;)

So why not speak out against pierce0415 when he makes deragotory comments and threads about other players? You speak out againts people who make the world an "ugly place" yet you take a not so cleverly disguised swipe at NyCPsU. You just reek of hypocrisy!

can't we wish both na and Iroda good luck.
Iroda was a good player (actually the defending champion in singles, if i am not wrong) and I am happy she is back in form now. Li Na had a good year but everybody has off a day. I can see why ppl bash Li Na for this lose or bash Iroda for this win

You are exactly right! :worship:
You used great words! If only everyone can think like you.
I've used all my reps for the day (I just started good repping any Iroda fans before) but I'll give you a good rep tomorrow!!

^ Just about everything you have said is plain wrong, including about Frazier, my confronting Pierce, and my reasons for confronting you. The fact (a) you made the posts you did, (b) you agree with people who support that, and (c) when confronted about it state that there is "nothing wrong" with it, makes it clear that it is pointless to continue this conversation or to have any interaction in the future.

I'm sure Na will be back to where she belongs next year. Outside the Top 50 :)
