If many JC fans and heck even some MS fans
can keep the faith after so much time has
passed, I'm sure most Serena fans can hold out.

Besides, you can already tell from many pics of
Serena in the past few months that at the very
least her fitness looks about as good if not better
than at the US Open and there she made it to the 4th rd.
So as far as I'm concerned their is no reason to worry.

And ditto, she will NOT being losing
in the 1st rd! Take that to the bank!

There's plenty of faith in reserve. Even if Serena never plays another match I'll always be thankful that I was a fan of hers. I always hope that each year is a productive year for Serena, and that is the same for many of her fans.

That's because you're not even close the being a huge Serena fan, what you are is a fan of Serena's wins.

Just never lose hope! I'm a Serena fan cause i respect everything she has accomplished in her carreer. She is a champion, don't forget that. She has talent and she is a topper. Just give her a few good matches and you'll see what happends ;)

You cant have control in that. Serena needs to recommit and be hungry again. Serena is the only who can decide on that.

Im afraid Serena would only comeback if she is 100% ready. I dont think she can let herself in a match with Sharapova if she not 100%.

If anyone threatens losing hope, they're not a real fan.

I don't care is Serena never touched a raquet again and swore off the game foever (which she won't do), I will be, like StarDuvallGrant said, honored to have been one of her most dedicated and loyal fans. Serena was more than just a great tennis player. Her achievements will stand the test of time and NO one will ever take those away from her. She has meant so much to the game and has left an indelible mark on it. If you ask any player who is under twenty if they admire(d) Serena for what she did to the game, most of them will say yes, and the ones that don't are lying :p.

But seriously though, looking at Serena in Africa, she looks like she has a newfound perspective on life, in that she appreciates it more. That being said, I think she's working very hard on her tennis and her fitness to make sure that she's not injured next season.

And I think it still gets frustrating for REAL fans to listen to so called "fans" bitch and moan about how terrible this year was, but I mean, hey, she played 4 tournaments all year, and got the the semis of 2 of them. She didn't play 2 consecutive weeks all season, and still got the the 4th round of a major, bagelling the #1 player in the world. Yeah, that's CRAPPY by Serena's standards, but let's put this in perspective. If Serena had played a full year with those results, she'd be in the top 10, so just get off Serena's jock for a minute and let her play a full season, before you start talking about losing hope.

The last time Serena played more than 30 matches in a season, she finished Y.E. #7 (2004). That was the last season she played at more than 40% healthy throught the year, and even THEN she still had knee issues. So if Serena's fully healthy, which all of her fans are anticipating next year, and even if she isn't, whether or not you have faith in her is irrelevant. Her TRUE blue fans aren't going anywhere :wavey:

even if Serena never played again, she has proven to me that she is the best player of this generation..... unless someone else can pull out a level of consistency and greatness over several months that which i have not seen from anybody else yet.

serena just has to prove it to other people....

well i never bitched at how terrible her year was im saying that when she actually plays tennis she is the best in the world. but she just hasnt been playing tennis. the last time when she played tennis for a full season was in 02 which is about 2 b five years ago. and u tlk bout her bageling mauresmo. who bageled her serena or maursmo? and u look at her results 02 was #1 03 #3 04#7 05# 11 and 06 shes sitting at 95. i dont no about u but im seeing a little bit of a decline here. i have not lost hope and no that she can still get to the top of the game.

if serena never again won a match for the rest of her career then retired wen she was like 28 i would still love her 4 wat she did. but even then u would move on and pick up new faves. im a fan of serena playing tennis but she hasnt brought her game 4 the past year and a half. and btw ive been a fan of hers checking results and evrything snce 1997 when she wasnt having much success at all.

Why would you lose hope?

Serena has given us so much from her career. Not very many fans can say their favorite has held all 4 grand slam titles at the same time. Serena and Venus, for the matter, will always be my number ones.
