Personally i like Maria more then Ana but my opinion isn't important. I was wondering who do like most? (game, attitude on and off court, role model for the kids, natural beauty, clothin' style, media image etc...)

I'll take Maria. I do like Ana though, but she's a bit overrated. Especially the babe hype around her is too much. She's average at best :) Goodlooking compared to Jankovic though ;)

Definitely Maria. A much better tennis player, and has a much better fighting spirit. I just love her determination. Yayah!

Don't care about either one at all. Maria is way more intense and a big fighter. Ivanovic must improve her footwork. she has talent but may not live up to her potential, but really I am not captivated by either one.

Um...Ok please remind who won when they played.

You can't even begin to call Ana a better player...just look at their titles.

When Ana overtakes Maria in slams then I'll begin to pay more attention to her.

,role model for the kids,

while you're ligitimate to be shallow, having zero interest in actual tennis, understanding squat about the game and showing no sign of realizing great athleticism even if it hit you in the head with a wooden raquet - i have a problem with the above particular statement.

tennis players are not role models. i mean - most of us don't lead a sporty life, we aren't pros, and we don't need someone to look up to for work-ethics, sacrifices and putting hard work day in day out.
we also don't need to learn how the media works, what we can and cannot do and say while on air or in a press conference. you get the point - we lead a regular life, we aren't athletes.
but even athletes don't need to be role models for kids. sure - they can inspire you, they can bring out motivation and they can be someone you adore for going for it and making it big time. i personally find the Gambale frightful, but fairy-tale like, and in a way - very charming. but i don't excpect her to be polite, nice and smiley, i don't expect of her to tell me ciggerettes are bad for you, and don't drink while driving.
they are not role models that need to educate us into a moral life, some of the greatest players weren't exactly too nice on and off court, some huge players were arrogant obnoxious and spoiled brats.
but i still look at thier tennis first and foremost.
as a human being, i don't find much in neither Sharapova nor Ivanovic.
i much rather follow the ways of humanitarians and activists, i find nothing too awing about someone bieng graceful when they have enough money to afford losing, nor do i find someone spirit-lifting when they decide to attack one of the worlds best players and give it all they got, when they are actually playing for money, prestigue and fame to begin with (i'm refering to ivanovic' attitude against playing the elite players).
I do however find the Ana follow up to the net after the inside out forehands run around the back side, and i do appriciate the sharapova try to get to the net and improve that aspect of her game.
i find it amazing that ivanovic can hit so big when out of position, and sharapova's movement forward is increddible considering her size and figure.

but as rolemodels, i find nothing in either of them.
and i think that's the way it usually is with the very top players.

couldn't agree with you more. ana still has a lot to learn, as she literally exploded into the scene two years ago, and needs time adjust to the whole hype. i think the 2006 season was the year of adaptaion, and that from now she will be top ten at least where she belongs. i do like maria too, but i really hate diva-like aditude, although i like her fighting spirit on the court. of the court i don't like her, she seems too cold for my taste in women, whereas ana looks sexier to me.
