I remember my longest match, ugh! It was a LONG three-setter and it was in the summer and it was TOO HOT and it took about 3hrs.
It was one of those matches where you can't find the range on your shots. I had to hit safe to the middle of the court and wait for errors. Anytime I tried to force errors I would make one. However I was determined to win. I lost the first set 1-6 :help: I was almost bagelled. My opponent was serving well and really mixing up his serves. he had a good slice serve and kick serve and I couldn't read his serves. Also my first serve was really letting me down. I just couldn't get one in.
In the second set I started to read his serve better and get more first serves in and I won 6-2.
Then the third set came. Man it was a break galore. No one could hold serve
I would break then get broken then break then get broken... you get the drill.
Anyways we broke each other to a tiebreak. Somehow in the tiebreak I got up to a 6-0 lead and choked 4 straight points until I won the next point 7-4
So final score was 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (4).

My longest match in competition was a 6-4 5-7 6-4 match. The rallies went on for so long. The funniest thing is that I played this match next to the court where Gaelle Taton (a former wta belgian player) was playing. We began at the same moment and she finished her 6-0 6-0 match even before I had won the first set :haha:
Otherwise, I already played a 5 set match against a friend of mine, and I won 4-6 7-5 7-6 6-4 6-3
Nov 15th, 2006, 10:10 AM
The longest match ever I've played when I losing a semifinal match with 4-6 7-5 6-7 in two-something hours :fiery: Saved like 3 or 4 match points, though.
Nov 15th, 2006, 05:27 PM

Nov 15th, 2006, 05:28 PM

6-3, 6-7, 7-6(7) I lost a heartbreaker! Was the Finals though so that was cool!
Nov 15th, 2006, 06:01 PM
7-6, 6-7, 14-12, I though the match would never end, 3 1/2 hours on court.
Almost every game went to deuce a couple of times, but I got a lucky break in the end.

Against my best friend on a public court in Surrey, BC in the middle of summer 33 degrees.
I won 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. Almost every game went to deuce. We both had stinging eyes from sweat and we sat under a tree with wet towels after the second set! I think it was about 3 hours!

Against my brother (who is 3 years older than me at 21 ;)) on holiday in France we had tennis courts, and they were clay. We played it over 3 days. I won 2-6 6-3 6-4 5-7 13-11. :spit: :haha: It was so hot! So many deuce games. The first 4 sets neither of us could really find our range, and my backhand shots were spraying long nearly each time, and his serve was awful. But the 5th set is some of the best tennis we have played against eachother. He led 5-3, and I think he had 7 match points. I finally won it on like my 5th. The last game was probably the longest of the match. I am sure it took more than 5 hours over all.
I love my brother. :haha: Whenever he loses a point he, like, swipes the net with his racket and starts screaming. :spit: I am more calm, but I have been known to smash a racket or two.

My longest match was a three-set three-hour affair. I don't remember the exact score in the first two sets, but I won the first won he won the second...then the third went to a tiebreak with both of us holding our serves through the entire set. I won the tiebreak something like 9-7. It was blazing ass hot that day and after the match was over I nearly threw up...haha
Nov 15th, 2006, 07:06 PM
I don't remember my longest match, but the longest set I played was a first-set tiebreaker that I lost 19-21. Neither of us could hold serve during the tiebreak, but each of us came up with insane shots match-point down. We had planned to meet to play best of three, but the set went so long we didn't have time for a full match. Even though I lost we were both playing our best tennis. I wish all matches were that great...with the exception of me losing :p

My longest in a tournament was in the semis. I won 6:7 6:4 7:6  :rocker: He didn't shake my hand at the end cos he was so pissed off. :spit: He had 2 match points in the 3rd set breaker, and led 4-1 in the second I think.
Nov 15th, 2006, 07:10 PM
2 hours and a half but it was something like 38-40C and it was ...I cant find the word
Nov 15th, 2006, 07:51 PM
6-2, 6-7, 14-12 and that was with a hangover. had a match point in the second set breaker, double faulted and shouted the loudest string of expletives ever heard. can't remember how long it went on for but it was ages.
another one was 6-7, 6-0, 6-1. played utter bollocks the first set and it went on for like nearly 2 hours and there were 10 breaks of serve. but it was my plan to have a really long first set, it wore my opponent out and i then won 20 points in a row and cleaned up the next two sets in 20 minutes.

In singles I lost 5-7 6-4 7-6(3). I'm not going to talk about that one :hysteric:
And then in doubles I won 6-7(5) 7-5 6-3. So many of the games went to deuce and the points lasted forever. It started to rain lightly toward the end, and all the other matches got called off, but we basically said, "NO, WE'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR THREE HOURS. WE'RE FINISHING THIS!"
And this one time when I was younger, I beat my gransma 12-10 in a third-set tiebreak. 2-6 6-0 7-6 maybe?
Nov 15th, 2006, 08:38 PM
Im not sure which was loinger but I have had long matches.
One a long time ago was about 3 hours long. I think it was 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 with me winning. The first and last set took forever.
The most exhausting one because of length was a 7-6, 5-7, 7-5 win for me :bounce: I trailed 3-5 in the first set and 1-5 in the final set saving 2 MPs at 2-5. It was 3 hours. I was exhausted.

My longest match was last year, my freshman year in high school.
It was a high school match.
I won it 6-4 4-6 7-6(4) and it was about 3 1/2 hours long.
I was down 2-5 in the 3rd set and saved 2 MP's @ 4*-5 and one at 5*-6.
Then I was down 1-4 in the TB and won 6 points in a row.
I don't know how I did it. :p
My teammates ran on the court after I won.
I've also won a doubles match 7-6 in the 3rd too.
