Hi everyone!

I have had such a great year this year! Winning the US Open in New York was the highlight of course but it feels great to be playing well and injury free. The turning point was being able to practice a lot after Wimbledon and all that hard work paid off by winning San Diego and everything came together then.

Madrid came at the end of a very long year and of course I am disappointed that I lost but I can now look forward to my vacation!

Even though I won't be playing again until January, keep coming back to the website for news, photos, videos and more!

Last, but not least, I cannot thank you enough for your amazing support this year. You guys make me realize how important it is to have such great fans. It's been so fun, and I look forward to working hard for another successful year!

See you in 2007!

Maria

Just wondering at how many tournaments that Maria played this year did she have the support of someone from this forum in person?

I don't know if you can count Michael or not. He does post to http://www.mariasharapova.com pretty often. I have no idea whether he posts here or not.

Well, let's just say that out of me and Maria, one of us managed to show up at the Roger's Cup this year. ;)

 ;)

Im just wondering whether Maria would have any idea that our group on this forum exists? She gets some damn good support here. I wonder if theres a way we could let her know, like others have done to players like Dani and Maria K by delivering letters to them etc??

It was really fun. :D Seats could have been much more comfortable at San Diego though. LA was awsome at night.

Did you go to AO? How was it? I really want to go there, but it's during the school year plus it's like 20 hour plane flight from here. :(

But it would be cool if we could come up with something more creative than that. I have absolutely no idea what though.

You should fly down to NY sometime, it's not that far. New York is very cool.

I would take the flight, but unfortunately, that's going to have to be after I graduate, which is in 4 years. :( (or more than that if I go to university immediately:o ) Oh well, Maria should be in good form at that time, so i'll still be able to watch her.

I really want to go to IW in 07. I hope it's during our spring break. And I hope I can actually get tickets.

Are you at all familiar with her www.mariasharapova.com fan site, Dan? They have a feature there called "Ask Maria" which supposedly goes directly to Maria and she reportedly reads and replies to all of the questions posed to her. If she does, in fact, see all of the items posted through that feature, that would be a solution, but I haven't been active long enough to tell whether that would be a realistic approach.

She doesn't necessarily answer all of them, just selected ones...
She hasn't answered mine yet!

ohh ok now I get it
That has potential to be the most hilarious, and yet confusing as hell thing ever, especially if we sent it off and gave no explanation first. :haha:
I think you just want Maria to think all her fans are wacko Sarah ;)

That sort of thing is funniest if it's done partially blind.

I'll set up a thread with some rules....

Hi everyone!

I am slowly recuperating from vacation in Costa Rica. It was so wonderful. I did a lot of relaxing but a lot of activities too. It was a nice balance, and I even made it to the gym a few times.
Now I'm ready for the Holiday season and I am so excited to start shopping for presents! I have a very very long shopping list. I hope I get it all done before the big day. My friends and family are going to be so excited about the things I have in mind for them.
I haven't forgotten about my fans either! I've worked out a few special deals for you guys to take part in for your favorite tennis fans and maybe you can pick some stuff up for yourselves too!
