For all the feel good words coming out of the Congress-
bipartisanship is needed!

It's bologna.

It doesn't exist.

Not today, not 50 years ago, it doesn't exist.

In the throes of WWII, the GOP and Dems went at
like cats and dogs.

In the middle of the Civil War, the politics in DC were
horrendous between many parties.

In the Korean War and Cold War, they didn't like each other.

It's a nice idea...it doesn't mean much.

Good feelings last about 1 day.

The Dems will try to plow through all they can.
They don't know how long they'll have a majority.

It could last years, it could last 2 years. Never know.
The GOP will try to make them work hard for it any way
they can.
They are the underdog again, and they can have a base
that wants more of some things, less of others.

The President has to hope to work with both, and
stay out of the way, and concentrate on what he believes is the
most crucial.

Remember Bush tried to be nice with Kennedy and Pelosi and
Reid and Daschle when he first got to DC. He had dinners, he
invited them over, he went to the Senate...he had joint bills.
They still hated him, still lambasted him. He didn't get it for a long
time. The guy has tried before. He'll try again. That's his
personality. He had to do it as Gov. of Texas, he'll never
stop trying to get along...even if it's pointless. He's not running
for anything.

If so, it's because of people like you!

People like you don't want to work together
for the good of all the people! You want what
you want and would cut off your nose in spite of
your face if it meant the other side getting nothing.

Congress no longer wants to serve the people,
they want to serve themselves and we've seen
much of it.

Now that one party has butchered things, the other side will
get a chance to do the same. And I'm sure you'll be here
rooting the fighting along because from all you've ever
posted here, it's what you want.

Oh, he made a big show of "working with" the likes of Kennedy, alright - like the "No child Left Behind" scam where he worked with Ted and a number of others to craft a bill, but then refused to fund it after the press conferences were over.

Bush's attitude has always been "you're either with me or against me"

Out of curiosity, did you major in Revisionist History at school?

I know! Either that or somebody has him totally brainwashed. I just wish he would try to educate himself correctly on political issues. He just absorbs "politricks" take it as truth.
