No ;)

She'll play against Sharapova, Dementieva and Clijsters for a SF spot ;)

The draw for this matches has still to come...

Sveta has always struggled indoors, but she's confident -

"I've learned how to qualify for this tournament, but this is the first time that I see myself with a chance of winning it. Maybe the great season I've had has given me more belief in myself," said the 21-year-old who has won in Miami, Bali and Beijing this year.

Tennis WTA Tour Championships

Kuznetsova too strong

Svetlana Kuznetsova effectively ended Elena Dementieva's WTA Tour Championships challenge with a 7-5 6-3 victory in Madrid. A second straight-sets defeat in as many days leaves the world number eight bottom of the Red Group and with almost no chance of reaching the last four.
Kuznetsova's opening match of the week's two sets lasted the best part of two hours, and she said she still had plenty of work to do.
"It was really tough. It's hard to play your first match after a long break," she said.
"At the start I was tense and nervous and found it really hard to get going. Eventually I started playing better but I will need to step it up."
The all-Russian encounter started in attritional style, with the first six games taking nearly 45 minutes as nearly every game went to deuce and the play was littered with baseline rallies and unforced errors.
Slowly Kuznetsova hit her stride, with her winners count nearly doubling that of her adversary. Despite showing frustration at her inconsistent tennis, the world number four claimed the last of five first-set breaks to win 7-5.
She took her momentum into the second set, running up a streak of five consecutive games to go 3-0 ahead in the second.
Dementieva improved beyond measure when she threw caution to the wind and made a succession of superb winners.
But Kuznetsova would not have her service broken and made the most of her second match point to get her tournament off to the perfect start.

This is the big match, against Kim.
This probably will decide who goes into the semis.

I guess the last night match would be awful. It is not the way I want because I really want Elena do her best.

I'm very excited about today's match.
If Sveta beats Kim, she's in the semis.
And Kim is not in her best form.

How can I possibly watch the match tonight! It will be really strange seeing both of my faves play each other when it's now certain that only one of them can go through

There wasn't anything Sveta could have done about that last night, Kim would have beaten anyone in that form. I dont hold out much hope for 2nite as even if Sveta beats Sharapova in straight sets, Kim will comfortably beat dementieva and will probably go through on games won.

That presentation Sveta made to Arantxa last night was really nice :).

Sveta came into the YEC about 700 points ahead of Kim.
So she will hold her top 4 seeding in Melbourne.
This was a good year.
One match I'd like a different result is the FO final.
Still a very good year.
