Nadia arrives in Madrid

Nov 5th, 2006, 03:10 AM
Goldenova, we all know that you :inlove: Nadia but didn't you see we already have a thread for Madrid? ;)

Nov 5th, 2006, 11:51 AM
I didn't see a Madrid thread. Just that Linz final thread, with long posts I couldn't even read

Nov 5th, 2006, 12:28 PM
Yellow Group:
Mauresmo, Henin, Petrova, Hingis

Red Group:
Sharapova, Kuznetsova, Clijsters, Dementieva

I personally think this is a very good draw for Nadia. The semifinals look like a very good possibility.

Nov 5th, 2006, 12:46 PM
I expect her to reach the semis, but if Justine and Amelie are healthy it won't be easy

Nov 5th, 2006, 01:45 PM
I expect Nadia to beat Hingis and Mauresmo

Nov 5th, 2006, 04:24 PM
Not the easiest group although I still think Nadia will qualify. Mauresmo and Henin are questionmarks. We don't know how well there going to play. If nadia plays well the only person I could see possibly beating her is Justine. Good luck Nadia!

Nov 5th, 2006, 04:51 PM
I'm sure Hingis views her match with Nadia as her best chance.
Every match will be difficult

Nov 5th, 2006, 06:57 PM
I think that Nadia can reach the semis
But none of her matches will be easy

Good luck Nadia :D

Nov 5th, 2006, 07:31 PM
The schedules out for tuesday. Nadia will be the first match against Mauresmo. Good luck Nadia!

Nov 5th, 2006, 11:43 PM
Good luck to Nadia! :bounce:

Nadia will win 6:4; 7:5 tomorrow because Amelie's game is so
Remember me :p

Nov 7th, 2006, 02:24 PM
C'mon Nadia, you can win this!

Nov 7th, 2006, 03:39 PM
20 min to go :bounce:

Nov 7th, 2006, 04:03 PM
Nadiaaaaaaaa.. Come on! :bounce:

Nov 7th, 2006, 04:12 PM
Correction! She will win 6:3; 6:4!

Nov 7th, 2006, 05:08 PM
Nadia is leading Amelie Mauresmo 6-2 5*-1 and she is about to serve for the match :D

Nov 7th, 2006, 05:08 PM

Nov 7th, 2006, 05:09 PM

Nov 7th, 2006, 05:09 PM
Triple MP, 40-15, 40-30 :speakles: oh gosh Deuce :tape:

Nov 7th, 2006, 05:22 PM
Nadia starts YEC with smashing 6-2 6-2 win over title holder A. Mauresmo. :bounce:

Nov 7th, 2006, 05:27 PM
Finally :o

Nov 7th, 2006, 05:33 PM
This was the best situation, beating the #1 seed in 2 sets.
Now she has to beat Hingis, and she'll be in great shape

Nov 7th, 2006, 05:40 PM
This was a fantastic win for Nadia. She played aggressive and with a lot of depth on her shots. She recognized that Amelie's backhand was off and she just kept attacking it.

If she can beat Martina in straights, the semifinals will become a reality. Keep up the good work Nadia.

Nov 7th, 2006, 10:03 PM
Thank god Nadia thrashed Mauresmo. I agree Kathrin. Mauresmo is so boring. She just loops the ball into play and gets everything back and when she is extremely adventurous she decides to hit a winner.

Nadia won 6-2 6-2 against Mauresmo :)

Nov 7th, 2006, 10:50 PM
Nadia :yeah:

Good luck in next match :D

Nov 8th, 2006, 02:20 AM
Awesome win Nadia! She played very well! Good luck against Martina!

Nov 8th, 2006, 06:42 AM
C'mon Nadia. Give Hingis a good thrashing :armed: :fiery:

Nov 8th, 2006, 10:20 AM
videos i've made from yesterday's match. sorry for the poor quality...

Nov 8th, 2006, 03:42 PM
I'm not worried about Hingis.. I like Nadia to kick her ass!
Hingis is one of my three players I really don't like! So it will be a fun match: seeing her crying in the end :nerner:

Hingis kann ich auch nicht leiden  :fiery:

Nov 8th, 2006, 10:20 PM
Hingis won 4-6, 6-3, 3-6.
Now they are 1-1, Justine is 1-0, Amelie is 0-1
and everything is wide open.
Until tomorrow.

Nov 9th, 2006, 04:04 AM
It was close Nadia! Beat Justine tommorow! I would like for you to qualify flat out rather than have to hope certain conditions are met. Good luck Nadia!

Nov 9th, 2006, 06:54 AM
If Nadia loses to Justine, the only way she can qualify for the semis is if Mauresmo beats Hingis and Henin-Hardenne beats Mauresmo.

That was a bad loss, to a player who didn't get to a slam semi this year.
So today is a chance for Nadia to make a statement.
or else, wait till 2007

Nov 9th, 2006, 01:14 PM
nadia was really weird yesterday.she looked like she knows that she would lose the match. please nadia, believe in yourself and have fun, then you'll qualify for next round.justine is really beatable.she didn't move well against martina.go nadia!

Nov 9th, 2006, 06:09 PM
Nadia lost to Justine 6-4, 6-4.
She finishes 1-2.

Nov 9th, 2006, 07:29 PM
I'm afraid Nadia will have to wait for next year...

Nov 9th, 2006, 11:49 PM
What a disappointing finish to the year. Honestly, I expected Nadia to reach the semifinals after her demolition of Amelie Mauresmo. I can't help but to feel disappointment and disgust at the way events unfolded. After reading Nadia's post-match interview, I find out that she is seriously considering another "team" change. I can't speak for Nadia because I don't know what goes on behind closed doors, but she cannot continue to blame her mental frailty on her coaches. She had plenty of opportunities to win this match. It was completely unacceptable for her to waste break opportunities on second serves. Every time she had the upperhand in the match, she wasted it with silly errors. The negative attitude also didn't help her cause. I'm sorry if I find so negative at the moment, but this was a major opportunity for Nadia to make her statement. I really hope she works on her mental fortitude during the break. Otherwise, next year will be uneventful for our princess.

Nov 10th, 2006, 07:27 AM
Nadia has to keep doing what she's doing.
Obviously, she hasn't won the biggest matches, but that's very difficult to do.
As long as she keeps getting back to slam quarters and the YEC,
eventually Nadia will break through.

It's not easy, even if you're ranked #5.

Nov 10th, 2006, 12:33 PM
nadia should have a good rest and learn to have fun on court.

Nov 11th, 2006, 04:22 PM
Nadia had reached a high level in the spring, but got injured.
She came back in the summer and didn't do well.
She improved during the indoor season, but wasn't good enough.

She beat Golovin in the Stuttgart final, but she showed in Moscow and Linz that she wasn't all the way back.

Anything is possible next year, she has that much ability.

Nov 12th, 2006, 09:45 AM
Anything is possible next year, she has that much ability.

Mmmh, I'm not sure about that??? :p

Nov 12th, 2006, 02:37 PM
Nadia's fall season definately re-encouraged her fans that she wasn't pulling a Nastya and that she really was injured this summer...Nadia played really well over 3 weeks before the YEC...those 2 finals she lost in are understandable...She's going to avenge her loss to Anna next year, I just know it!

Hello, I have been in Madrid this weekend, in the YEC and I saw Nadia in a stand and we took a photo, but is too big to post it. Anyone can help me? (sorry, my English is horrible)

Nov 23rd, 2006, 11:24 AM
I have posted my photos with Nadia in the thread "Petrova Fans, Introduce Yourselves"
