View Full Version : Ivanovic has never lost to a younger player. Who will be the first to beat her?

Ana Ivanovic has the incredible record of having never lost to a younger tennis player in a singles match on any level of her young but illustrious career including the WTA Tour (for example, here in Linz she won against upcoming youngstars Misha and Aga). Which younger player will be the first younger player to beat Ana? I've thought all along it would be Tatiana Golovin but Ana won against her in all 5 matches.

I also can't wait until Ana gets a chance to play Nicole Vaidisova for the second time on the WTA Tour (Ana won they first match in Miami last season).

Sesil has more than a year of suspension left and judging by the match today Aga is not ready yet . So you are saying she will stay undefeated to her youngsters

This is 10K event in CARCAVELOS (PORTUGAL village), and both players when played that match (Ana and Sesil) is UNRANKED players in that moment!!?!? THIS IS NOT TENNIS MATCH - THIS IS ONLY child's play and nothing else!!!

this is an official match, not junior a.k.a. "child's play" so accept it,calm down and check your "CapsLock" coz it seems that something is wrong with it

I thought it'd be Olga Poutchkova but then I noticed she was 9 days older  But Sesil and Ana's match should count :)

it doesn't mean anything, look at Vania King or Alizée Cornet if you consider Itf is not tennis

Btw, if you need more proof that her match against Sesil does count as an official match, check the WTA Tour website and look at their head to head:

Yup.

And if "any level" counts, then Ana also lost against Vaidisova in juniors.

Now the day has come. Ana lost to Misa. Of course it would happen some day and I''m glad it's Misa. Although I'm not happy with the result.
