Are Cory Avants, Megan Bradley, Tanner Cochran, Kristin Schkulbir, Iris Ichim, retired? Any chance Ally baker will ever play pro again??

Mainly interested in Avants. Saw Her play a few times and always thought she had the game for top 100 just never scheduled right to get herself in the top 200.

Schlukebir, Cochran, and Bradley all quit the tour after posting insufficient results. Cochran studies at U of Mississippi and Schlukebir is a club pro somewhere in Carolina. Avants was kind of on the margins, she had some decent wins, but hasn't played much this season. Ally Baker got some kind of chronic injury and hasn't played a tournament in about 3 years.

I think Bradley gave up too soon, but i remember reading an article a long time ago saying she never wanted it to be her career, she was more focused on her degree. Anyone know whats up with Cory Ann?? Also what about the brit Grier who played college tennis in the states. How come she hasnt joined the tour shed surely be in top 10 brits

i saw Bradley getting beat in a Challenger match once and her attitude was very negative, she was constantly talking down to herself, like you might expect from a junior. It was obvious that she was not going to last long as a pro.

I think it's really tough when you train all your life, turn pro then come up with only $4,000 in prize money for the season. You haven't even paid your coach yet, bought your plane tickets & travel expenses. At that point you probably just think to yourself "Well, I better go work on that degree so that I can put food on the table!"
