Does it matter?

Obviously Elena will, so was there really a need to ask the question?

Dementieva because of her double faults

(or maybe because of her slam finals  )

Dementieva. All Grand Slam finalists names' go into the record books, and their names come up now and again in that context.

elena.
she had greater peaks too - don't forget.
patty the way she is now is something of the past 2-3 years only. until then she was very inconsistent week-in week out. took her alot of time to find her complete game - as usual with multi-talented, all-book shotmaking players.
and definatly one of the top lefties ever to grace the court.

lena d...because sychnder (no offence) does not have that star appeal

Definately Elena. 2 slam finals, notorious for her serve, and a much better player overall.

I like both but I think that it will be Lena.

I cant imagine anyone will forget Patty S myself ,but as for the MOST remembered ,well of course its Lena D ,twice a GS finalist ,fed cup hero ,olympic medal holder ,famous for her serving and fighting and above all else , being the best example of a female Homo Sapiens in the history of evolution.

Elena -- objectively, a better career so far.

Elena because her 6 consecutive grand slams wins in 2007-2008...

Lena, not only for her firsts (first Russian to medal at Olympics, one of half of first All-Russian final, first Russian to win more $5 million) but because after she retires and becomes Empress of the World and ushers in a new ear of peace, prosperity and worldwide love, she'll be remembered for that as well as her tennis.

dementieva she is such a nice person and a brilliant attitute but she might be remembered for the wrong reasons! lol ie for her serve but ill always remember her for her smile and laughter she brings to the court! :)

if you make no distinction between fame and notoriety then Patty will, I think  her hubby and the orange juice fiasco should ensure her place in history

Oct 25th, 2006, 05:43 PM
elena, not for her finals, but for her double faults and how she fought through them.

i mean, helena sukova made 4 GS finals and people dont remember her.

Oct 25th, 2006, 07:09 PM
Patty because of the handshake an the OJ

ptkten
Oct 25th, 2006, 07:21 PM
Elena, easily.

I think the more interesting question would be between Petrova and Dementieva.

No Name Face
Oct 25th, 2006, 08:34 PM
My baby ;)

2 GS Finals, Olympic Medalist, Fed Cup Heroine of Russia, double-fault queen...people down the line are gonna be like, "i did a dementieva" when they double fault.

i dunno if that's a good thing, but elena will be remembered forever.

QUEENLINDSAY
Oct 25th, 2006, 08:58 PM
slam finals? you only remember the winner!

There are too many russians so if you dont win an important tournament you wont be remembered.

Patty for me!

selyoink
Oct 25th, 2006, 09:01 PM
Elena because she made two grand slam semi-finals plus people will probably remember her serving woes. She also did win a silver medal at 2000 Olympics and was on the 2005 Russian Fed Cup winning team.

elena obviously. schnyder just hasn't achieved the lofty heights of success as this beautiful blonde russian. 2 slam finals, an olympic silver medal & one who has alot of fighting spirit with amazing 3 set records will be remembered in years 2 come over patty. patty yet tries so hard but no cigar.
