Hey, with a look at this week rankings I realised that we will probably have a all-european Top 20 by the end of year.

Right now Lindsay Davenport is the only non-european player and is ranked #18, but she won't be able to defend her points at Season End Championships.

Nationalities in Top 20 are: Russia (7), Belgium (2), Switzerland (2), Serbia (2), France (2), Czech Republic (1), Slovakia (1), Italy (1), Germany (1) and USA (1)

Next in would be Golovin (FRA) and Peer (ISR)

I supposse this would be and historical fact, probably due to injuries of US top players (Davenport, Williams Sisters, Capriati, Seles, Rubin) and lack of newcomers, but also due to the loads of russian and eastern europe (serbia, czech republic and slovakia) good and young players

and also takes part in all european sports competition: UEFA Eurocup, FIBA Euroleague and European Championships...

Anyway Katarina Srebotnik is also able to make Top 20 (Tatiana Golovin is not as she's injured  )

hopefully Na Li will be at #20 - she is ahead of Golovin and will be ahead of Davenport
she has a chance to be in front of Bartoli too as Marion has points falling from Quebec and Dubai

You're right, if Li doesn't play this year she can't be ahead of Peer nor Groenefeld, but she will be ahead of Davenport and Golovin. That would be #21. And she can be also ahead of Bartoli who has a lot of points to defend, so it will depend on Marion's performance on Quebec and challengers (as far as she was out of Linz in 1st round). And Katarina Srebotnik has also a good chance if she has a good performance in Linz or Hasselt

Na is done until 2007
so basically it all depends on Marion / Kata :wavey:
