Aussie Open '07: potentially toughest draw in history

Now that Serena, Venus, Lindsay, etc. have falled outside the top level of ranking, there are so many dangerous floaters around that Aussie Open '07 could be the wildest ever. For example, if Mauresmo, Justine, and Sharapova keep the 1-2-3 ranking and Hingis doesn't make top 8 by mid-January, it's possible that Mauresmo as the #1 seed could face this draw:

1st rd. -- Serena Williams (WC)
2nd rd. -- Venus Williams (50)
3rd rd. -- Lindsay Davenport (25)
4th rd. -- Martina Hingis (10)
QF -- Kim Clijsters (8)
SF -- Maria Sharapova (3)
F -- Justine Henin-Hardenne (2)

That would be the current #1 facing seven former #1s with a combined 28 grand slam wins.

and its also likely to be a tough draw because a win here will be worth 43% more than a win at RG, Wimbledon or the US Open

Serena Williams wont need a wildcard.....shes ranked in the mid 90s with no points to defend between now and AO

Gee I would hate to be the player on top of that lot. I never thought of 2007 oz open draw being like that but in theory the matches will be very competive. If a top player gets throught that lot and wins the title on one can say they didn't earn it.
