Anna KOURNIKOVA is coming to Turkey to join sign ceremony of KIA MOTORS which will be the sponsor of Turkish Tennis Federation for 2 years more. After the ceremony Anna KOURNIKOVA is going to play exhibition matches with Ipek ŞENOĞLU, Pemra ÖZGEN and Çağla BÜYÜKAKÇAY. ( they may play doubles match)

10 AYRI MODEL:

But unless the player wants to really dedicate their life to tennis, they won't get many wins.

The WTA has accepted reality, even "promoting" others (first Dani, then Masha, perhaps Ana and Nikki next) to the "official glamour girl" spots. (BJK still uses Anna as a crutch for her money losing WTT).

Anna is now thoroughly meaningless to the tour. (Even if one credits her for the Russian influx on tour, which is somewhat debatable, her effect on that is ova). Obviously the WTA is promoting other girls, cause Anna isnt on the tour anymore. :weirdo: What the hell was the point of mentioning something so painfully obvious? The WTA doesnt NEED Anna. Nobody does. But the people who enjoy watching her play and enjoy the extra buzz she brings to every tournament miss her. So what's buzz? Its media driven hype, its ppl believing something because "everyone else does", its what very talented politicians have used (JFK, RFK, Trudeau, Clinton, and sorry to say it, Hitler, were some examples from the last century). Face it: Anna had talent, but due to injuries, etc. was a marginal player in pro singles. She's now merely famous for being famous.

I never said she was irreplacable or that shes essential to anyone, so its just more rambling from you putting words in my mouth, and using every opportunity you can to post negative things about Kournikova.

That being said, she would be an amazing addition to the tour from a marketing perspective and from a tennis perspective, cause shes a flashy player that will sell tickets anywhere. But you misunderstood me if you think I said "shes essential to the tour" or "irreplaceable."

Anna KOURNIKOVA was in Istanbul yesterday. She attended to the opening ceremony of KIA MOTORS' new cars.

She said that she was in Turkey for a tennis tournament before.

Anna and Enrique IGLESIAS are planning to come to Turkey for vacation in 2007.

Anna, Ipek ŞENOĞLU, Pemra ÖZGEN and Çağla BÜYÜKAKÇAY played an exhibition match after the ceremony.
