If I honest, I think she'll find it very tough. It's been a awful long time since Indian Wells 2002. I mean, has Daniela ever played has well since that match against Hingis? Her game is definetly good enough. I'm not sure she has a slam run in her these days like in 2002, but her form has improved gardually over the last couple of years.

But has a fan of someone who has a nightmare record in finals, I know how mentally it is so difficult when you get a record. And for that reason, unless Daniela plays a weakish Tier 2-Tier 3 event, I doubt she'll win a title again.

If she sucks up her pride a bit and stops playing the top events every single time, she can definitely win a lesser title.

She will! She knows she has to step it up! And yes she should humble herself in playing tier III tournaments just to bring back her confidence and rythm..

Not sure she can win any of the big events that she is aiming to win but if she applies herself the way she has done this week there's no doubt she can win tournaments below tier 1 level.

This is what I was gonna say. More kindly though but

Yeah, I've always wondered why she doesn't play lower once in a while. I also thought it was due to pride. She'll certainly win some tier III/IV with her game. I think she should look for a title fast elsewhere, get used to playing finals and get that monkey off her back.

Against anybody but Pova, Dani would have won a title today.

That was a fierce match today!!!

Yes, she will. But I think she needs to start playing a Tier III here, a Tier IV there, and she also needs to play well in these tournaments, not tanking the matches like she did in Bali :o :help:. If she plays lower tiers and reaches the semi-finals and finals, I guess she'll get used to the pressure players usually feel in the last stages of the tournaments, something Dani doesn't cope well with, whether because she chokes or because she has to face a very good player, like Maria today.

Playing these smaller tournaments will help her to get some confidence, to know what to do when she's about to finish the matches off. Once she's able to do that, I'm sure she'll be able to do it as well more frequently when she has to face big names in the bigger tournaments.

Yes at some point she will surely win another title.

Same probles as Schiavone - too high in the rankings to be playing lower Tier tournaments (pride) but if you want to win Tier I or II you need to beat top players which neither of them is capable doing!

As always people are not using their head in here

when was the last time she won a titel ... 2001?

IMO the only way she can ever win a title is if she plays a Tier 3 event every now and then. Sure, she was only 4 or 5 games from a title today, but winning those lower events would be huge for her. She has the game, but the mental aspect is still lacking a bit.

If Bondarenko can win LUX, Dani from this week can win at least a tier II with a decent draw, no question

"title" is an ambiguous word - it covers Grand Slams, Tier 4's in Asia, and everything in between.

she won't win an upper Tier title, unless it's in the fall indoor season, which is just about over for another year. Maybe she'll win the Tier 3 in Belgium next week.

i say that she might win a tier 2 maybe, but a tier 1 could be difficult though she did give maria a run for her money in that match

Danni is just too slow to be a top player. This week, she took advantage of a tired field at the end of a long season, on her best surface. She'll stay at around ranking 15-20 which is not bad. She could win Tier 3's but she doesn't want to play them.

Sure, I don't see why not.

But like others have said, she might want to look for a Tier III as a second title.
