Oh I conviced mine badly. I actually have a huge headache now coz I didn't have enough sleep. I didn't know whether to skip live scores or not. I have the same problem now. I'll probably save my self from being nervous though but since it's a final, it's hard not to check.

 It's hard to believe, but before last year, we didn't have ESPN or ESPN2 :tape: . I convinced them to get that(using the ruse that my dad could watch all the golf that ESPN showed). As i'm here on the marvelous Pacific coast, I can just wake up tomorrow morning to the results and download the match to watch. :) I am not waking up at 4:30 in the morning just to watch the little numbers on the scoreboard change. If it was actually live, I might consider waking up, like how I woke up at 2 am to watch the FO coverage on weekends.

When we got a free preview of TTC it was a done deal. I had my dad order the larger package just for it. I have to shell out the difference in the price monthly but it's worth it. I'm addicted.
I understand you on the livescores. As much as I hate livescoring, I have to check them.

Indeed, I don't know how I lived life before it. I wish TTC came with the normal cable package like the Golf Channel, but what are the chances of that if SportsCenter makes absolutely no mention of tennis outside of grand slams while they drone on and on about golf, football, baseball, basketball endlessly.

yeah same here. I wanted espn for the slams and the tennis channel for other tournaments so i'm paying a little bit more (actually my parents are lol )but as you said it's worth it. I just wish TTC would start airing tournaments from the first round even for like tier I tournaments.

My dad's obsessed with sports, which is where I get my tennis habit from. We have the biggest ESPN package, TTC, The Golf Channel, Versus, and a lot more that I don't even know of. The worst tournament for me is the Australian Open. Semifinals 2005 I was up until 5 in the morning after those matches. Serena/Maria took forever and then I had to sit nervously through Lindsay/Dechy. Which after Linds won I ran through the house trying not to wake anyone up. :o
I've rolled out of bed at all times to check scores. :tape:

We've always had ESPN and their minions. I do wish TTC would show the earlier rounds of the other tournaments, but the basically show the same rounds of the tier I/tier II's that ESPN2 shows. It's going to be weird watching Roland Garros next year on TTC though. Hell, it's going to be weird watching the YEC on Versus.
I like the other shows on TTC too, I just wish they'd program it a bit better. I love the classic matches that they show. That's one of my favorite things.

Same for me, coverage is during midterms for me, and my Tivo is jammed up during major tennis times. It's pathetic really, most people use their Tivos for shows like Grey's and etc. Our Tivo in my house is jammed with golf and tennis(mostly tennis because I prioritized all the season passes having to do with tennis :p ). And that's ok, I can probably watch the final if somebody uploads it. :) It's kind of sad, I got my laptop in June, and the disk space is nearly full because I have stuffed tons of matches in there which I transport to school to watch during lunch and free periods. :help:

I'm supposed to be going on vacation in the spring, and I'm being stubborn because I don't want to miss the French. When I come home from work, and when I came home from school, the tv in the livingroom that my dad watches (he's retired) is on one of the ESPN stations.

It's going to be so weird. I mean, we're going to have commentators that talk about tennis and that don't bash the players who are playing. I might die of shock. (I just hope my fave plays next year...and that includes the evil clay season.)

How are the commentators on TTC anyway? I remember over the summer, like Sean Macdonouh or something like that was trying commentating for tennis and that was some of the boringest crap i've heard. I mean "Oh, Blake just served a double fault"(Sean) "That was Blake's 6th ace"(McEnroe politely correcting him).

It's so unfortunate, our class is like the least spirited class. Our topic for homecoming was Star Wars and we were supposed to dress up on Monday and seriously, like 5 people dressed up. All the other classes, sophmores, juniors, and seniors are like so spirited. Unfortunately, also because we're freshmen, whenever there's a mess or something in the hallway, it's "The Freshmen did it!" :( Kinda funny though, in most sports, it's freshmen dominated. Like 3 of the 4 top players on varsity tennis are freshmen. Mary makes lots of comments that really shouldn't be said, but she's kind of humorous. I Christened Sharapova "Bananapova" after Bananagate just because it was easy. No offence Bella. ;)

I've seen every player male or female get bashed over there. The Lindsay haters were in full force last weekend. I held back because of the restricted moderation.

It probably is, thousands of people go here, more opinions, more discussions, more controversy, more arguments. What was it like over at ESPN when the 3 all game in the Peer Sharapova match happened hurricanejeanne? I was there when the Nasdaq Golovin thing happened. My god, it was  I remember they called Maria Sharapotty when that happened. The nicer term was Sharabathroombreak.

 That's alright.

So you're saying it's more dramatic over here?

Yes. There are more people over here, more drama. Over there it's the same people whining over and over again.
MTF still wins in the drama department.

goodnight. :wavey:

Maybe I don't open that many threads there, but I find people here to be more bitchy and unreasonable.

I was at work when that went down, but there were a lot of threads on it. I generally try to stay out of those types of threads.
The drama from Miami here was enough, and I was only a lurker at that time. I didn't join the ESPN boards until this summer.

MTF is just insane. There are laws of MTF and that thread is just plain LMAO. I only go into GM over there and their bug/error reports when this place goes down. :tape:

If you look at HW with an optimistic attitude, it is done twice as fast. ;)

I hated studying. But I'm an art student so there really isn't a lot of studying outside of the history part. But in HS I hated it. I'd always cram right before tests and hope for the best.

We had a speaker come talk to us about the importance of sleep, so if I look at hw optimistically and did it twice as fast, I could study more and get more sleep. :) Grades got better too.

I just went to MTF and that thread is on the front page.
It's mostly the common trends and theories that occur on MTF's GM.
Absolutely hysterical.

Oh, I got plenty of sleep. I would nap or sleep all night. That's why my studying never got done, and I did most of my homework during the lunch period. :tape:

Ah. I determined that if I did all my homework the night before and didn't have anything to add to my stress, I could have free time to go on here and other forums during the early morning, lunch, and free periods. :)

Not dumping all my homework to do the day it is due helps me enjoy the high school years. :)

I remember a guy in my class did a lot of the math homework 2 months ahead of when it was due. It would be nice having no homework for 2 months, but still, it's not worth putting in that much effort.
