With her type of game and the fact she plays singles and doubles I hope she holds up as she playing 7 tourneys in a row
Luxembourg (II) - 2r
Stuttgart (II) - 1r
Moscow (I) - 2r
Zurich (I) - 2r
Linz (II) - ???
Hasselt (III) - ???
YEC (SEC) - ???

I didn't realize she's playing Linz. Yeah, that will be tough but she's lost in the 1st or 2nd round so it doesn't really matter.

She's not holding up.
Sam & Lisa are 4-3 this month with a tourni win.
I just feel if Sam plays this, she's not gonna have enough to be very competitive for doubles at the YEC.

Journeywoman = Liga Dekmeijere = 26 singles tournaments, 27 doubles tournaments. She's practically on ever entry list...I hope she really loves playing.

Journeywoman = someone who's been playing for years and years and hasn't really been able to break through to the very top... playing 7 tourneys in a row doesn't really qualify you. :p

You think you know it all Sarah... :p:kiss:
I'd consider someone like Tzipora Obziler a journeywoman (Oh, she's so close to the top 100 now!)

Does anyone know if Sam wears sunglasses indoors? Because I swear when I saw her years ago she was...maybe it's her problem...

Yes... Tzipi would be one I consider to be a journey woman! :D But Sam's still been moving up the rankings so... we'll see. She could yet become a journeywoman! ;)

I think she was wearing sunnie at Hopman Cup......hmm...

now if sam played 7 tourneys in a row & didn't lose in the 1st or 2nd round all the time & reached quarters, semis & finals then she would probably struggle.

but i don't think playin her 5th tourney in a row in linz should hurt her 2 much.

I think she used to be sponsored by a sunglass brand, so she had to always wear them, even indoors. But i'm not sure about now.

Sam will be bigger than Rafter and Molik...as an avid fan I hate to say that. Sammy will be top 8 by the end of next year as everyone defends their points....If Alicia doesn't have a great Aussie summer...she will retire! (Pls don't hun :-()

My thoughts exactly...

In singles - big serve, but not much else

Sammy won't be in the top 8 next year. As much as i hate to say, it won't happen.

as u can tell im a huge fan of sammy, buy this time next year i do beleive she will move up the rankings but most prob with in the top 15 i personally think to go any further wont be till 2008. i do believe she could make a top 10 appearence but i think its gona be with alot of support behind her with a team including a coach, manager to get endorsments (she really needs a team behnd her if shes to reach her full potential)

she is sponsord by oakley with the sunnies she didnt wear her sunnies at hopman cup who ever was asking lol =p

i think also the fact that shes able to compete in singles and doubles every week is because of her fitness if she wasnt as fit she would be pretty buggerd by now. i believe she would be the most fitest player on tour. have u seen those abs and muscles

the type of game that sam has she could well reach the top 15 or even top 10 sometime in her career. but first of all she needs 2 stop having draws in tourneys where she runs in2 top players like amelie, maria etc & lose.

no offence i believe that she can beat the top players in the world but she needs 2 have draws which r relatively easy 4 her 2 reach quarters & semis at tier I & II events at 1st in order 2 gain more confidence in future matches & then take it 2 the top players. she could also work on her consistency & deal with big pressure situations against the world's best. plus she needs 2 get a clothing sponsor & a full-time coach & maybe even a physio 2 help her achieve her full potential.

hope she shows some of her potential in linz. i'm hoping.

:yeah:

And on the other discussion, Sam can still move up the rankings a bit, but to say that she will be top 10 next year - I think it's a bit much for Sam. WOuld be nice if she could do it...but I don't hold my breath.
