With Martina's lost, Patty's still in the hunt for a spot at the YEC... she needs to at least make the finals of Linz and then win Hasselt to qualify

has there been any official announcement?

Will she ask for a WC after she wins Linz? Or just end her year at Linz regardless of the results (she'll be at Madrid as an alternate still)

she said on her website she is playing Hasselt if she needs YEC points

it seems very unlikely that she could get enough points to enter the YEC, her best chance is that either Amélie or Justine pulls out

She won't reach the final in Linz and win Hasselt...

Regardless of what player would do that (playing a tournament she otherwise wouldn't because all events are added up for YEC qualification, not just the Best 17) I'd say it was wrong. Especially one who plays more than most of the other contenders for the spot. (In this case, I hope her friend Marti turns against her because of it, as Manu did in '04 ova the Fed Cup doubles team controversy).

she is kidding herself if she really believes she will qualify. Good job Hantuchova beat her, or Schnyder would be in the Zurich semis, and in chance of qualifying :tape:

Patty will get into YEC for sure, there is no way none of the Top 8 will withdraw. Even as #9, she'll go to Madrid as the alternate and get paid like 50,000$.

how many wildcards do they have to offer? im sure they would rather give say hingis, or a belgium player a WC rather than patty...

true, patty basically needs 2 reach the final or win the title 2 still be in the running then she will take up the wildcard for hasselt. but if she loses b4 the semis then she probably won't accept the wildcard.

if kim reaches like the semis or final in hasselt then she gets in. i hope that patty does not reach the final in linz (no offence) but i really want kim & martina 2 make it.

The Hasselt website also says:

"Kirsten Flipkens will be the only player to receive a wild card. "

So that's strange...

maybe they're saving a WC for both Patty and Martina
