well I dont think the situation is that poor. Its just that they finally recognized that there is more than winter sports and swimming. ;) ;)
She is ahead of Olympic champions, world and europe champions in the list. :wavey:

women tennis was never popular in Austria :fiery: only with Babsi Schett as a tennis pin up, thats it

Two years ago Georg Totsching won the award for best sports men in Austria just because he won king stage at Tour De France :help: - on the other hand Benjamin Raich (whom i cannot stand) won 5 medals at WC in skiing (bear in mind skiing is Austrian national sport No.1).

Yes, but she is 15, has a title to her name and has also been making a big name in juniors. She's carving out a nice profile, has huge potential and this award just goes to show how many people in her home country are aware of her :)

this award just goes to show how many people in her home country are aware of her :)
exactly. such awards are not really about how much someone has achieved (tamira is not even the best tennis player of her country :tape: ), but more a reflection of who's popular with the people.
