I won't wonder what if they said it or not, because frankly no one gives a damn except you, you obsessive stalker.

What was on there that was provocative? Lol, nothing in the article would have gotten any attention even if Venus and Serena said it.

Are you referring to Tati's or Nicole's comments? :)

I found neither to be offensive nor arrogant. Even if they came from some other tennis player.

Nicole praised Tati in saying that she played great and also said that it was her off day. Tati also mentioned that she noticed that Nicole was having an off day and that she capitalized on that.

No my dear you would gave a damn. If either one of them had said it we would have 10 pages of thread claiming how arrogant they are...etc. so you know you all do give a damn when it comes to everything that's written about them.

I was getting a string of nasty and obscene phone calls in the days leading up to Oscar Night, 1959. I knew it was that awful Eddie Fisher, but I couldn't prove it! This was the days before caller-id.

You don't find this offensive....then again it was not said by a williams so it would not be offensive to anyone.

"I was definitely expecting a tougher match," she said. "But from the start I could feel she wasn't in it and I took advantage of it. I wanted it to be over fast. I wanted to put her head under water right away."

But that's only the reality. What Tati was supposed to do?Let her win the match to be nice. Nicole was playing bad and she took advantage of this situation.

I am not a fan of Tati or Nicole and I love Venus so much.

I was just stating my opinion based on what I have read. I could have a different view had I watched the interview because sometimes the way people says things makes it offensive or not.

hmm....I can half see your point but I certainly don't think it was thread-worthy.I mean you're just buying into the idea of the "ultra-sensitive Williams fan" which I don't want to see happening as then we'll all get painted with the same brush  :(

lol i thought it was funny when golovin said
"But from the start I could feel she wasn't in it and I took advantage of it. I wanted it to be over fast. I wanted to put her head under water right away."
a bit melodramatic i thought

and on the thread subject i dont really see the problem in what was said i doubt anyone would have cared if either Vee or Serena had said it  this thread is pointless

I'm imagining. Ok. The image that I get is that we would see the same ole trolls talking about how ARROGANT and COCKY they are. We would find that many posters would state that they V@S should be more HUMBLE and not as out spoken as they were in the article.

Some rag on V@S because they are great players and because they won slams. Also because they are black. You just got to know whose the troll and who's not. It's the individual poster and it's always gonna happen.

By the way the quotes weren't that bad not in the least.

"I wanted to put her head under water right away" maybe you doesn't understand the literal traduction of the french expression "Mettre la tête sous l'eau de quelqu'un" ou "avoir la tête sous l'eau".

I thought Patty's one comment was in poor taste, how she lost because she didn't have enough practice time.
