Since Nicole's 2006 season is almost over, I was thinking about what her schedule will look like for next year. What do you guys think her schedule should look like for 2007?

Good shedule.I just hope she will play at Paris gaz de France. ;) It will be nice to see her again in Paris after her fantastic run at Rg.And I'm sure french people will be happy. ;)
I think she should more play at Zurich than Linz. And maybe just play two or three pre-tournement for Rg.Berlin and Rome.

yeah I hope she will play both Berlin and Rome since they are both Tier I with usually good fields (and I listed Warsaw too) to get enough preparation for another good showing at RG.

I picked 20 tournaments for Nicole in 2007, can't see her playing much more than that. But I wouldn't mind her playing Birmingham too, since she needs more play on grass. Though if she does well at RG 2007 then I can't see her playing 2 warmups before Wimbledon (certainly doesn't need to pull out of warmup like this year...).

Just one thing,Hope she will not play at the new event at the beginning of the year.Tiers 3,don't remenber the name.If she go to it,she will get pay for that.I will be very disappointed.
This year, she has played (by counting the 2 others,Linz and Hasselt) 19 tournements.Thing it's a good number(without counted Miami and Iw which she was withdrawn). So,In a year, more like 21-22 tournement for her.I think it's a little bit more for her.Played 17-18 will be the perfect number.
I think that she must play more tiers One.And forget the Tiers 3.To have more point and get better and better.
She also must play one warmups after Winbldeon, but two......It's will become too for her maybe(depends on how her body can improve).Just hope she will sheduled her new season correctly.Have a good shedule is very important right now on women tennis with all this injuries.....

There's a Tier III and IV the week of Jan 1. I hope she doesn't play... Nicole reached the SF at Sydney this year, so she probably will start her season there.

Nicole may play Dubai which is a big tournament instead of Doha. I wouldn't be surprised if she does that... Wouldn't be smart to play Dubai, Doha, IW, and Miami all in a row...

What is really good for Nicole is that she won't be defending a whole lot before Strasbourg.

Sydney 88
AO 96
Tokyo 75
Memphis 1
Amelia Island 25
Charleston 1
Rome 25

Nothing over 100 pts...

She certainly can do better than a 4R at the Australian. Tokyo, Charleston, Rome are Tier Is where she can also advance further than she did this year hopefully. Not to mention nothing from Indian Wells and Miami and whatever tournaments she plays in 2007 that she didn't this year.

As long as she doesn't play enough to burn herself out, or doesn't playing enough in order to get a rhythm, I'll be happy. :)

2006 was a pretty good year for her, but still a bit inconsistent at times.

Hopefully in 2007 she will be more consistent and really solidify herself as a top ten (or higher) player.

Rebound Ace Season- avoid the pointless first week. Play the 2 biggest events
1. Sydney Tier 2
2. Melbourne Grand Slam

Indoor/Hardcourt Season- play Tokyo then have 2 weeks off then play Dubai, another week off to rest and recover for Indian Wells and Miami run
3. Tokyo
4. Dubai
5. Indian Wells
6. Miami

Clay Season- if you are going to do either of the green clay events, do them both, take a couple weeks off in between them to rest more after IW&Miami, Fed Cup and AI-Charleston, then play Rome and Strasbourg followed by RG
7. Amelia Island Tier 2
8. Charleston Tier 1
9. Rome Tier 1
10. Strasbourg Tier 3
11. Roland Garros Grand Slam

Grass Season- Nicole will be tired after 5 clay events and 4 weeks in a row from Rome to RG, Nicole doesnt really like grass so just go to Wimbledon and hope for something lucky maybe. Maybe she could play Eastbourne but stay away from Birmingham Nicole
12. Wimbledon Grand Slam

Hardcourt Season- she needs more HC tournaments over the summer, but this was tough to schedule. Stanford, SD, and Montreal are all consecutive, maybe do Stanford and SD and either Montreal of New Haven, ending with the US Open
13. Stanford Tier 2
14. San Diego Tier 1
15. Montreal Tier 1
16. US Open Grand Slam

Indoor Season- avoid Asia, pointless traveling from USA to Asia to Europe, and plus she gets 2 weeks after USO to rest. Play higher tiers including Luxembourg then a week off then Moscow Zurich and then either Linz or Hasselt, Linz for more points or Hasselt for more rest
17. Luxembourg Tier 2
18. Moscow Tier 1
19. Zurich Tier 1
20. Hasselt Tier 3

Thanks that you FINALLY after ages removed the downloads from my site, asked you so often to do it. But that happened probably, as I changed the URL to them  .

Anyway, I am going to meet Nicole probably next year at one of her tournaments. Will probably have the chance to interview, etc. her :)

I realized that nicole made a special shedule this year, you see,she played some tournaments that she hadn't played in 2005,and she didn't defend all her tournaments this year.I really don't know why she made this shedule:confused: do you think it is good for her,you know, she didn't got to defend her tournaments,so she lost lots for points

I think it's good, she played and won tiers 3 tournements. She can defend her tournements all her carrer, she have to improve and played against the top world, and played tiers One tournements it's the best thing for her.Of course, she lost some points, but she has to look for the future ;)

Unless she does so well at the French Open that she's very tired, I would definitely recommend at least one grasscourt-tournament before Wimbledon. She certainly has the weapons to succeed on grass - especially that serve - but grass is still an alien surface for her, from what I've seen so far.

I think Birmingham is an excellent Wimbledon warm-up because it's a Tier III with a 56-player draw, so it's the best chance for Nicole to get the most matches on grass. Eastbourne attracts a much smaller, stronger field, and conditions are very windy there - and there's always the risk of getting injured the week before Wimbledon.

I also want Nicole to play Birmingham from a selfish perspective: it's the tournament I'm most likely to attend in the future (it's always a choice between Birmingham and Eastbourne). I saw her there in 2005, but she meant much less to me in those days, so I would dearly love to have that opportunity again.

Yeah, I will get it form her manager for my site. It is sure tough already that she plays again WWC07, then Sydney and then Australian Open like last year.

Oh,ok!You are in permanent contact with her manager?
In start of the season, they are less top players than usual on Sydney.Last year, she was on Semi. So,it's nice to see that she will back again on this event. Thanks for info.

I wonder when/if she'll have an official site up and running. A while ago there was the coming soon page on nicolevaidisova.com, but now there's an error message. I'd really like for her to have an official site!

Yeah, they put it down. They are not sure yet when it will be launched, as they don't know how to do it exactly. But she will have one definately sooner or later.

Well I'm glad it will be launched someday - hope for it to be up in 2007... Thought it would have launched during/after RG since she had a big run.

With the site I hope there'll be a blog, off the court pictures, and other similar content because I like that type of stuff on other player's website.

Hope also it won't be too commercial things inside. And it will be focus about her tennis life. But some ideas as the off the court pictures and a blog will be interesting. Her Stanford 's blog was cool. And I'm sure people are always curious to know more about the tour routine.
Before Rg,it will be nice. I'm waiting her return at Paris,to see if journalists will call her "the plague" again. If you knew the bad reputation she had in France. But it will work out all right.....

More because she beat Rezai and the tense of the match was :shout: .The audience was  against Nicole because she was always asking the Umpire. They whistled her the most part of the match.
And right after that, the french television said that her nickname on the tour was "the plague" which is totally wrong.
If you read what the french newspapers said about her........
I think it's mostly because Nicole is tall and blonde as........Maria.They think they're the same!
