I wanted to go with "Facts of Life" because it ran for so damn long and was probably the most successful for what it was.

But, when I wasted seconds of my life to ponder on the question, I concluded that "Full House" was far more corny.

Bob Saget *shudder*

Uncle Jessie/John Stamos *shudder*

Olsen twins. *double shudder*

BTW - I don't think "Charles in Charge" or "Mr. Belvedere" were all that successful.

"Growing Pains" was also quite terrible. I mean, how many years did that young girl (Chrissy) age in a season!

There's also "Punky Brewster." It got killed in prime time (I think they moved it against "60 Minutes" or "Murder, She Wrote" or some other big show) but it made a lot of money in syndication.

Actually, maybe the real answer is "The Brady Bunch." They made movies about that one! I want a revote!

LMAO@cynicole...I actually was about to put Brady Bunch and Punky Brewster but I thought they were too far back.

I actually liked Growing Pains.

"The Brady Bunch" will live forever. It's so embedded into the psyches of people who grew up watching it. And it has been alive and well in syndication for ages...and it's still watchable. "Facts of Life"? Pfff...not even close. Too girly maybe?

"Full House" gets compared a lot to the "Brady Bunch." It even cued the music the same way. They also had the same sort of daughter set-up...except that Jodie Sweetin (is that her name?) got uglier as the show got on and Eve Plumb got prettier. Each family also had a dog (Comet and Tiger)...and added on someone younger (the twins and Cousin Oliver).

And "Step By Step" was a messed-up Brady clone. Out of all the shows listed in the poll, it's the hardest for me to watch. Painful.

I actually liked "Mr. Belvedere."

LOL@Full House! I just hope that doesn't live on...making movies, tv specials, spinoff shows, and tv movies!

My God, how corny can u get????
I mean if one of the kids like blew up the house or something that father would just hug them and say "Awww, that okay sweetheart I still love you, we all make mistakes"...Geez, if I did that my parents would grab the shotgun and u wouldnt see me no more!

Interesting tennis sidenote......I kept seeing this cameraman at Indian Wells the last two years (in press conferences) and he looked so familiar. Then this year I figured out who he was. He played the older brother from "Mr. Belvedere". I looked him up on the internet and I guess he is now a "filmmaker" who freelances for some sports shows. And please don't take this as a sign that I watched that imbecile show, lol.....I simply never forget a face

How could you not have Gilligan's Island on that list? It was so corny and yet so popular, and is still showing somewhere in the world and people are laughing at it. I think there are philosophy classes on the vital question, Ginger or Mary Ann!

I think it ties with The Brady Bunch for the most well-known theme song,.

What about that annoying show with Cousin Larry and Balky I think it is called perfect Strangers. That was by far the worst of the lot. Who the hell thinks of these shows need to be put out to pasture and shot.

Based on the choices, Full House was the obvious selection. My personal selections were a toss-up between the Beverly Hillbillies and Three's Company. Though, when I read Tia Clara's post, I think I have a three-way tie!

America is known for its lousy beer--and it's cheesy sit-coms! What a world legacy....

I like that reference to Perfect Strangers. Many years ago, Ronnie and I went shopping for porn, and I like gay porn because the guys are hot. You know how many porno movies are named like a real movie or a TV show? Well, I remember there was a gay porno movie called "Imperfect Strangers" with a couple of guys on the cover who bore a slight resemblance to Balki and Cousin Larry. I've never thought of the TV show in the same way since!!!

LMAO Celeste!!!
I dont think I'll think of it the same way either, after the mental pictures that you just conjured up for me! lol

As for the poll, hands down, Full House.

That show is so corny it makes me squirm.

The best is at the end when the "we all love each other" music comes on and they all hug and make up.

Oh wait a minute, I have just recalled my childhood favourite...

Love Boat!

Hurrah! The cheesy yet rather wonderful theme tune...how I loved thee...

(Sings)

"Love Boat, di-de-di-de-di-de-de-de-deee Love Boat di-de-di-de...

And so on.
