She hasn't got that bad of a draw... Lets see what she can do, provided she gets past the 1st round!

Davai Makiri!

Well she just lost 6-1 2-6 6-7 (3)

That Sucks, she had plenty of chances including serving for the match at 5-4 in the 3rd... The 1st set was great with 1 ace, no DFs, and 83% 1st serves in... In the 2nd the DFs kicked in with 3 just in that set and the rest is history!

Whats going on with Makiri? After such a promising start to the year, she has been playing like crap for quite awhile now!

Bad loss Makiri  You need to just shut it down, go home, have some of your mom's home cooking, listen to classical music on your iPod, see your boyfriend, rest your weary body, re-evaluate your tennis, and prepare for 2007 season. ;) I'm sorry to say this Makiri, but I think you're mentally NOT there anymore (tennis burnout). You're just going through the paces when your on the court. Shut it down, so you can rejuvenate yourself both mentally and physically, get those competitive juices flowing again, and be ready for next season!!! ;)

Maria, PLEASE STOP!! I can't take this anymore. It is absolutely disheartening. I've said it before and I'll say it again, what is she going to gain by continuing to play? Please take the rest of the year off and clear the mind.

Maria's career seems to be heading in the wrong direction with one bad loss after another. And she keeps on playing one tournament after another. :( I hope she takes a couple weeks off after the season to rest. Then I want Nigel Sears to take Masha to South Africa and run her hard in the oppressive heat to make Makiri the best conditioned player on the WTA Tour which would help Maria with her mental toughness as well.

Maria is a darling girl! :D  :smooch: Maybe the sweetest on the WTA Tour. :) But it's painful knowing she has one bad loss after another with no end in sight.

I hope she takes a couple days off to rest up for the Ladies Kremlin Cup in Moscow. But I'm not expecting anything from Makiri there.

She should stop playing. What's the point in stepping out onto court having no belief that you can/will win?

Maria should not play the Kremlin Cup. The last thing she needs right now is to be embarassed at home. She should simply not play anymore this year. Maria needs a few weeks with no tennis whatsoever. Get away from the game for a few weeks. Go on a vacation, relax & clear the head. Once her head is cleared, she should get back into training. She can work on her game, her conditioning and her mental toughness.

Another that needs to change with Maria is her schedule. She can't play 5 or 6 weeks in a row. Her build can't handle that. Spread out the tournaments and be fresh at each. Play 3 weeks in a row, 4 at the very most. With her rankings drop, Maria may have to play more Tier III's and IV's. That would be good for her. That would help her game and help her get the confidence up.

I think Maria's trying to play through her slump.

I mean I know she's losing matches she shouldn't, but she has been in a winning position in most of them, so I think she's bound to be able to pull out a win in the next couple tournaments.

I still think she can get a few wins before the season is over.

Maria, please don't be hard on yourself.

House, you've been hoping for the last couple of years that Maria would start to play a smart schedule that will keep her from wearing out. But she keeps playing one tournament after another and getting worn down and exhausted in the process. :banghead: It has to be about the money because it doesn't make any sense physically for Masha to play so many weeks in a row so often because she obviously struggles with the grueling grind of the WTA Tour. :(
