With Venus and Serena seeded 1 and 2 there will be no need for me to watch the Draw :) because they will be on opposite sides :)

Same here... the only reason why I want to see the draw is to know where Capraiati is at

Mary Pierce

The Boiled Egg says that Mary is using her injury rank which is at 18 when she left the tour. So if this is the case (I am still waiting verification from TBE) she should be seeded 16 with Davenport & Hingis out. :D

I dont think it works that way...Mary will likely be unseeded...her injury only gets her in the door..right egg?

Also Natalie loses pts from DFS last year...so hopefully playing this week will get Maleeva a Top 16 seed. :)

YAY! I'm happy for V & S, Mary Pierce, I hope your right about Mary. I would like her to have a seeding.

Sorry guys.

Mary definetly won´t get a seed. It only allows her to enter the event directly but has no effect on seeds. Seeds are based on the rankings according to the results of Madrid, that is the first Monday of the French Open.

Regarding the draw, wondering if:

1. Ms. Manners will be in SERENA'S half to continue the losing streak.
2. Anna K. will draw VENUS in the first round.
3. Klijsters and Henin will be in the same quarter again
4. Stevenson and Rubin will be in the same quarter

Isn't Davenport playing? She is signed up for Eastbourne, no?

Lindsay is expected to withdraw this week from both events, Eastbourne and Wimbledon.

That makes Hingis/Davenport and retired Tauziat 3 out of the best 32 not to compete in Wimbledon this year.

just in cased u were wondering:

tauziat and oremans were finalists in Birmingham last year. No importance

losing semi finalists were Raymond and Hantuchova

Losing quarterfinalists were Kremer, Likhovtseva, Razzano and Brandi.

Don't know their exact defending points.

excuse me, can we please not cross out Lindsay until she ACTUALLY withdraws:( ? the rumors were that she will withdraw today, and that hasn't happen. I'm keeping hope alive here, stop ruining it!

I have them:

Quarterfinalists:
Kremer - losing 43 points
Likhovtseva - 45
Razzano - 72
Brandi - 100

Semifinalists:
Raymond - 104
Hantuchova - 95

Oremans is defending 106 points, Tauziat 203 points.

Tauziat's ranking will drop to around No. 25, depending on how those between 26-30 do this week.
Hantuchova is not playing this week, so she'll drop to No. 13.
Raymond needs to defend her points, otherwise she'll drop out of the Top 30. But even if that happened, she should still get seeded.

Arantxa has withdrawn. With her, Hingis, and Tauziat out, Schett and Fernandez are assured seeds. Coetzer is next, pending Grande's Birmingham result. If Davenport pulls out, Coetzer is seeded for sure, with Rubin holding the final slot, pending Grande.

I was really looking forward to Davenport playing Wimbledon. What a shame..:( I wonder if she'll play the U.S. Open.
