The clay season has not only made Serena a much better clay courter, but it has made her a better player period. The effects of the clay season will carry over to the grass and hardcourt seasons as well. When play calls for patience she will exhibit it. She has also learned that she does have to hit every ball or serve all out. When called for she will construct her points. She also will not be as reluctant to rally. Serena is still a work in progress but is on the verge of tying it all together. Scary huh?

No doubt.

Also, the greatest improvement I've seen in Serena this year is her mental approach. She's got that steely resolve that Venus has.

Last but not least, Mama Oracene said Babygurl cut back on her extracurricular activities and worked on her game. Girlriend has got that confidence now.

On to Wimbledon!!!

:) At the end of last season, Serena was critisized for stating that "she was tired of people ranked above her where she should be"(paraphrased). She vowed to play more to get her ranking up to where she thought it would best reflect her talent. So, she did exactly what she said she would do, and the result is a #2 world ranking!!!:) :)

A lot of people doubted her, but she knew in her heart that she could do it, plus, her daddy had already predicted such.:) :)

So the improvements we see are a reflection of the dedication and hard work she said she would accomplish to reach her goal.:D :D :D :D

Along with that hard work and patience on the court is what I see as a wonderful body that she is obviously developing from the work she had done off the court. Though she looked fine at RG last year (fellas, you know the kind of PHINE I'm talking about here), she seemed out of shape and out of sorts. I'm sure it had quite a bit to do with her injury and lack of play, but she just looks to be 100% physically right now. I haven't seen her look this good since Wimbledon '00.

Very astute! Clay as you pointed out made Serena get in awesome shape in order to hit more balls. One more thing the clay season may be responsible for.
