Marti and Linds played great matches and looking at their head to head record they were even and loads of their matches went three sets. It's unfortunate that there isn't rivalry like that with the Willi's and Jennifer.

No, I dont really miss it...I love the Venus - Marti rivalry though...Marti should get her stuff togather and get back to where she can hang with Venus again...Though I dont see that happening...My opinion...

No I don't miss it either.

I like the Serena Martina rivalry. Especially the last one that Serena commented on MTV.

I miss Davenport-Hingis rivals!! All matches always make us exciting!!

Jun 9th, 2002, 03:49 PM

I always wanted Martina to win ;)

The match where it all started (in a way this injury is also like that one...)

Yeah, I miss their rivalry. Especially because they were rivals but they got along well off court.

Jun 9th, 2002, 04:06 PM
They used to have good matches, I saw the Zurich 2000 one, and was great :) Also the Tokyo Pan Pacific 2001

Yes, I miss a little, cause of the quality of SOME matches :)

I miss more Lindsay vs Serena matches, they all were tough matches and interesting always :) You could never predict who would win

Jun 9th, 2002, 04:53 PM
My God, how many finals did those 2 play, and people are complaining because Vee and Rena made it 2 grandslam finals together, when they will only play maybe 4 tournaments together this year. It seems in the late 90's, every final included either Davenport or Hingis, at least now we are getting more variety. Kim, Justine, Jennifer, Venus, Serena.

Jun 9th, 2002, 04:58 PM
Not really, but I do miss rivalries where fans on neither side would demonstrate joy at a career-threatening injury to the other player.

Jun 9th, 2002, 05:12 PM
I loved the Martina Vs Lindsay matches Zurich 2000 and Sydnet 2001 were both amazing matches but

Indian Wells 2000 was just great in drama Martina 6-4 4-2 up looking like she'd finally beat Lindsay after 4 losses but then Davy wins 10 games in a row AMAZING!

Can't wait for more of there battles!:D

Well, in the words of Martina...what rivalry, Lindsay wins all the time.

Jun 9th, 2002, 05:15 PM
I really miss the Martina/Lindsay rivalry!!

Their matches were always very exciting and full of great points. A real joy to watch!

The final of last Saturday made me realise how great these Martina/Lindsay matches were.

Jun 9th, 2002, 05:18 PM
Not only do I miss the rivalries, but I miss both players terribly. Hope they return soon and give the Three Bangers a run for their money. Although I love a hard hitting match, I enjoy contrasting games. (Lindsay vs. Martina) Get well soon girls!

Yeah I definately miss this rivalry, it had more style and flare than the Hingis vs. the Willies rivalries!

Come back Lindsay and Martina! :)

BTW, one of the best matches in their rivalry had to be the Swisscom in 2000! :)

Jun 9th, 2002, 07:00 PM
To each it"s own.Love all good rivarly.love it more,if a williams is there.We all miis our lindsy?right.

Jun 9th, 2002, 07:19 PM
I miss Hingis-Davenport-rivarly very very much!!! I saw the final at the Swisscom Challenge live to years ago and it was such a great match

i miss lindsay more than martina. but i wish them both well and hope they are back soon. they are sorely needed in the mix of things. i especially love watching hingis getting thumped:bounce:

Jun 9th, 2002, 07:26 PM
I miss the Davenport v. Williams rivalry or
the Hingis v. Williams rivalry, those can be exciting matches.

Jun 9th, 2002, 07:43 PM
I miss MARTINA against the world!
It never was just Martina V Lindsay Rivalry.
IT was Martina V Lindsay, Williams sisters, Capriati the lot!
I mean there really does not seem to be any major rivaly between anyone at the moment as there was with Martina.
Get well Martina.

(looking forward to the Justine Henin V Williams sisters Rivalry!)

Question: Is Justine Henin the only one around at the moment who has a chane of taking on both Williams sisters and winning?

There's also Kim.

Which would explain why you said she was 30 years old. Congratulations to you are your crony by the way. It takes a real special breed of turd to get a thread about an injured player being out even longer locked by admins.

Cam'ron Giles
Jun 10th, 2002, 12:31 AM
No I think they locked it because you dragged your tired ass into it...:p

And speaking of turd, look at your family pics and you will see some really big ones...BTW, stop following me into every thread and stalking me...gosh...:o

Leave me lone, leave me lone...

Jun 10th, 2002, 12:35 AM
LOL@moron. Follow this thread form the top and see who is being stalked. :)

did DisposableDiaper come back in here, I thaught I smell something?

Jun 10th, 2002, 12:44 AM
Son, if I was stalking you, you'd be unconscious already.

Now go play with someone your own age.

Jun 10th, 2002, 12:52 AM
Please - just stop and continue youre battle in private.

Lets get this thread back on topic.

Jun 10th, 2002, 12:57 AM

But, I would like to know whose going to be the first out of Rehab.

Jun 10th, 2002, 01:24 AM
They both should be out with a vengeance soon after Wimbledon. Martina might be out earlier because of Linds' slow recovery, but I hope to see thme both by the Canadian Open.

Jun 10th, 2002, 01:27 AM
I miss both of them so much, I want more mathes between them, the clashes of the two styles are great mathces, and they both get very closed matches on any surface.

Jun 10th, 2002, 02:27 AM
Yes I miss it... they provided nice matches...

And I miss Lindsay real bad... :(

Jun 10th, 2002, 07:14 AM
Their rivalry was what got me interested in tennis in the first place and its the reason i hardly watch any matches anymore..

so yeah of course i miss them

Jun 10th, 2002, 01:10 PM
I miss their matches as they provided some great tennis entertainment. I always wanted Lindsay to win of course but I was never totally disappointed when Hingis beat Lindsay from time to time, it just added to the excitement :)

I miss both players as whoever they play, whether it's a Williams, Capriati, Clijsters.......who ever, you can always guarentee a great match! I think these are the kind of players that bring the best out of each other :)

Jun 10th, 2002, 02:23 PM
Its interesting their head to head is so close (14-11), I feel like in recent years LInsday really had Martina's number, but the head to head over the years tells a different story.
just goes to show you how one's memory can be selective!

anyway, yes of course I miss both of them. would make GS quarterfinal matchs/potential matchups soooo interesting if all 8 top players in the world were entered (no offense to Clarisa Fernandez).

Jun 10th, 2002, 02:37 PM
When they come back they'll resume the rivalry but there are other good ones as well! Like venus-hingis, serena-hingis, cappy-serena, and also kim-justine is developing.

Jun 10th, 2002, 02:41 PM
:wavey: Hello, Hello...anyone seen Queenlindsay???:D :D

Jun 10th, 2002, 11:21 PM
Right on BeCoolSerenaLover... the Serena/Lindsay matches were awesome; I was always on the edge of my seat! You could never tell who would win... .nail biters, great matches! :D
