Q. Welcome to Tashkent!
DLC: Thanks, it's great to be here.

Q. Can we ask about last week? It was disappointing for you, I take it.
DLC: Yes, losing in my home country in all three semifinals was disappointing. I felt I could do better, but there's always next year.

Q. Why or when did you decide to come to Tashkent? A tier 4 event...
DLC: Well, when Eva and I were making our schedules we decided to play here. She's historically done well here, and she didn't want to play on clay anymore. I didn't want to play on grass so soon, either (laughs). So we decided to come here. Plus I've never been in this part of the world before. It's an interesting experience for me.

Q. Selima Valentine will make her return here.
DLC: Will she? That's nice. Hopefully I can finally get a win over her, I seem to have a mental block when I player her, but whatever.

Q. What are your plans after Tashkent?
DLC: I'll be playing Eastbourne and then Wimbledon... and then I'll take a break.

I'm really pleased with my performance this week. To win 2 matches at my first event as a graduated pro really boosts my confidence and I hope to continue it against Eva.

selima after her match: "oh, i am quiet happy with my game today. i didn't play any match since nearly three months and started practising three weeks ago. so what could i have expected. lucia had a really good start with her win over keller and a very good one in the first set against me. she was up 3:0, i started very nervously, then she had another break ball in the fourth game, maybe she would have won the first set, if i hadn't saved it. the second set was much closer compared to the first. i think, there was no easy game. all games had to be decided in an advantage. i had more luck than her. i must say that she's an excellent talent and a very nice person. we will hear more of lucia in the near future."

was there anything you were not happy with, selima?

selima: "yes, my serve was unacceptable. i think i did 17 double faults. according to the statisticsmy fastest serve was 148km/h, in the past i had an average of 167km/h. have to work on it. but i must admit that it was also a result of the excellent return of lucia. i cannot remember playing a girl with such hard strokes."

selima valentine on her next opponent: "anjelica and me, we know each other very well. she knows how i am playing the same i do with her game. i think the match will show me, how far i am now and where will i have to work on. i must say that i am very excited playing her again. she's such a nice person and it's always fun playing, practising and talking with her."

selima after her match: "i never thought i would win against anjelica today. i was down 2:5 and 0:30 in the first, she played amazing didn't any errors. it was hard for me to go with her speed and her hard service. but then suddenly she stopped playing hard, she didn't serve very well, she did many double faults. i don't know - i hadn't the possibility to talk to her after the match - but i think she had some problems with her shoulder. i hope that it isn't serious."
