I am growing impatient! She had the 3rd highest serve behind Serena and Venus at the FO. The commentators were discussing the best serves of the tourney, and Cappy came in 4th, yet they mentioned the sisters, Cappy, but no Iroda! It kinda annoyed me, but it just goes to show how Iroda is still so unknown despite being in the Top 20 and getting a good seed. She needs a breakthrough, whether it be at a big Slam or big tournament, she needs to rack up the points with more consistent results and get the respect she deserves. I can't wait until she is more word of mouth, and then finally, we can see her matches on the tele and her name will be a constant one mentionned by commentators.

Iroda is one of the most talented players on tour without a doubt.
Many people became aware of her during her match with Serena at the US Open 2000. She played Serena very tough and was going stroke for stroke with Serena for a while. Like you said, she just needs that breakthrough and become more consistent.
I'm a big fan of hers now. :D

its just because no one wants to have a go at pronouncing her name.

Actually Iroda is the most no-related player on top 20. Which is pretty sad, that she had a tremendous year on 2001, defeating good players like Henin, Schnyder and etc.. And of course, streching Serena into three sets at Miami :)
This year, Iroda is having a knee injury since Sydney when she lost to Stevenson in three tight sets.
She did a fairly presentation on AUSOpen losing to Grande on 3rd round, and also streched Capriati in three sets on Miami. (Iroda seems liking to play on Miami)
I started to like her when she said that her game is inspired on Venus and Serena, and that she tried to wear colorful outfits as they usually wears. I loved her game, and after this interview, I just fell in love with her. And she's so nice, on her official site, she always answer her fans questions. And she's soooo nice but so nice :)
Her serve was the 3rd fastest serve of 2001, :o great accomplishment for her. I really hope she can comeback at her greatest form cause, if she do at time, she really can do some damage at Wimbledon with this serve and her athleticism :)

I love the I-Rod! Thanks BeCool! I am sure you have some cool name like Joao. LOL! Yeah, I have been to her official site many times. And she keeps a diary there too. Ah, I love her. All of her fans are fucking fed-up with her lack of attention, but everyone will see and feel dumb for not caring. She's also beautiful with a womanly figure, like, what every girl is jealous of. How does she not appeal?!

I'm her fan too... and she really too inconsistent... :(
She can do so well at one tournament and then do badly at the next... really worried about the points she has to defend in a few weeks.. :(
I think she needs to improve her forehand and consistency... her backhand and serve are fantastic...
