Come on you lot, we are all buddies here(sort of) it is time to 'fess up, no one else can read this, admit it,even momo fans don't really want her to win do they? The truth must come out. Beware the Bepa! she has had about twelve practice runs and is building towards momoanihilation(if she dosen't get Sunburnt first )if she falls behind, a cleverly thrown racquet will trip the serial chair runner and allez Bepa's fears!

You made that up to try and save face, because you know she's talking about what we do to motivate her when she's losing concentration or otherwise playing CRAPPY. Don't deny it, many a time I've had my hands around her throat as you bang her on the head with the racquet or vice versa.

That last photo will turn up later (after she's managed to choke a match away) with the caption Choko Momo, so we may as well acknowledge it now and use it in the official Choko Momo Posterchild Campaign.

How is Lindsay serving? Has anyone seen her matches?

There's something in Lindsay's serve which just doesn't go with Momo's racket. I mean several times she's not even able to BLOCK it!

But luckily for Amélie, I have a great idea that will reverse the negative streak forever. It's called "one hand for your backhand, two rackets for your return".

It works like this. When preparing to return, Amélie should hold two rackets in her hands: the Dunlop in her left hand - which she doesn't use anyway having a one-handed backhand - and another, magically Lindsay's serve-returning one in her right hand. When Lindsay serves, she should return with the racket in her right hand; then, after having returned, she should drop the "returning" racket out of the court, put the Dunlop in her right hand and keep playing as usual :p

Damn, why am I NOT her coach??? ;)

I just finished watching the match, Lindsay looked like she sort of gave up in the few last points, but jeeeezz, Amélie played GREAT :bounce:

Definitely Momo's best summer hard court match!!!

Did anyone mention the surface? It was bloody FAST, the fastest outdoor I've ever seen! It looked like indoor, this was probably one of the factors that played into the win. Momo plays better on fast surfaces.

Anyway, best Momo's match since Wimbledon by far: it felt like she RETURNED Lindsay's serve for a change, served great, chased every ball, her backhand was sparkling in any possible direction / pace / spin.

I love it when Momo flats out her backhand, sometimes in fast surfaces she doesn't have time to open up the swing and finds this istinctive, missile-like shot.

She played great!!! Go Fast Surface!!! ;)

Media Note with Mauresmo, Sep 23

Mauresmo: It was a tough match, I am very happy to go through. I won the 1st set easily, but the 2nd set was totally different. But I won the match at last.

Q: You seldom use hawk eye during the match, how do you think about it?
A: You should very appreciate about the call. I only use it when I quite sure. And I try not to use it at the beginning of the set.

Q: It was a long match for you, but Kuznetsova won comparatively easier. What is your expectation of the final?
A: I hope I can physically recover tonight. I am looking forward to the match tomorrow. It is the last match in China Open, so I will give all I have and play my best.

Q: You have played against Jankovic for 3 times, and you won all the matches easily. Is her performance today out of your expectation? And both of you broke the serve games many times, why?
A: I don't know. She played well in this summer. I won the 1st set easily, but she played greatly in the 2nd set, it was surprising. Both of us didn't serve well today.

Q: Jankovic was very annoyed in the match, is that helpful for you?
A: It doesn't help her.

Q: You are more confident in 2006, is that the key to win?
A: Yes, it is important, especially when it was close or tight. Without confidence, the result of the match might be different.

Q: Would you please give some comments on Kuznetsova?
A: She is a good player. She defenses well, she is very aggressive, and she serves pretty well. She performed well in Bali and China Open this week. It will be tough tomorrow.

Q: Jankovic plays well; do you think she will be top 5 player?
A: Yes, I think so. She performed well recently, not only in China Open, but also in US Open. If she performs consistently, it won't be surprising if she becomes top 5 in 6 months or one year.

I agree, and I understand those who do ;)

I just finished watching the match on tape and I'm so glad I didn't follow the live scores! It was like 3 matches in one :p

Amélie played well in patches, Jelena is growing into a big threat for anyone, so it was a good match to tough out for Momo.

I loved how Amélie brought Jelena to the net in the last game and also that shot at 43 in the tiebreak... Momo had a lot of time, so she loaded tons of spins on an extremely angled crosscourt backhand: it wasn't coming back.

Well done both players, I hope Michel does magics tonight on her... ehm, legs, and Amé recovers for tomorrow! Hopefully Sveta won't be totally at ease smacking winners left and right like in Miami :p

Jelena really is some player at the moment and even though neither played a great match the rallies were just so long and draining. When she was broken back at 4-4 and the match was suspended, she knew she was probably going to lose the first set, and then the match because she was too tired to play a third set. So she put on the white top to give the loss a proper scenario.

;)
