Well it is a great french open for the williamsfans!Congrats by the way but my question to the neutral tennisfans is , did you liked it so far? I'm a great Martian and while she wasn't playing it made me a neutral fan.I don't care who will win it!But i haven't see any really good matches! The capriati-williamsmatch was exciting but there were so many errors that it wasn't really beautifull to watch! For me it is a boring french open but that ofcourse has a lot to do with Martina's absence! What do you guys think?

This is my best French because:

1- Paola Suarez and Clarisa Fernandez pulled big upsets, and they are my favorites;)

2- Serena defeated Jennifer ( Again;) )

3- Venus and Serena are now n#1 and n#2:kiss:

4- Another All Williams final:bounce:

Do you need more reasons:wavey:

This is the worst slam in a decade I think! Non of my favs did something good/was not there/fell sick.

The only good thing is the discoverage of Clarisa Fernendez.

I found it really dissapointing as most of my favourites lost early and there was so much rain which was annoying and for me, the tennis wasn't really intresting.... I am hoping Wimbledon will be ALOT better.

To tell the truth, the tennis was not of good quality... :(

But I like in in a sense because of what Venus and Serena have achieved in this tournament, but tennis-wise, no.

Simply because there hasn't been too many competitive matches...the Belgium girls early demise left the field weaker than usual and the top guns sailed through to the semi's unchallenged..with the exception of Serena and Jennifer's match its been a very boring affair...and if the Williams' sisters don't pull out all the stops in their match against each other...something will really smell bad in gay Paree!!

I agree... the Serena - Jennifer semis and the Monica - Venus quarters and the Jelena - Conchita 2nd round match were the only matches I enjoyed...

The rest were too lopsided or too error prone

There werent too many good matches this year. Capriati-serena was exciting but there were too many UE's. But i'm happy about venus and serena getting through so that made this FO good for me. I voted for nice but not particularly exciting

Yes I enjoyed it. Although Martina wasn't there, Venus and Serena and they were (along with Safin) the only reason I kept watching.

No, I think it's been pretty boring. Why?

1) Lindsay and Martina were missing. It isn't the tournament's fault, but it made it less interesting.

2) Kim and Justine lost early, hence, fewer good matches in the latter rounds.

3) Matches were too predictable. The only exciting matches for me were Serena-Jen & Jelena-Conchita.

4) The coverage in Australia has been totally crap! 75% have been men's matches.

Hopefully the all-Williams final will make up for the disappointment.

there were some games with interest,
but most of them was really boring,
but you can also learn from these games
(if you play tennis).

Well RG has always been my least fave Slam and this year has proved why. I think it's been extremely boring, there has been no excitement about it, there's been no really good matches, that have been edge of the seat stuff. The standard of tennis hasn't been great. I'll just be pleased in a few days time when it's over, then we can go onto grass, because it feels as though this clay season has lasted forever :(

For me it was boring because all our Belgian were out after round 4 (men and women)

i think it has been interesting. i don't think having lindsay at roland garros would do much besides. if martina had played and hadn't got injured then it could have added drama.

seren-jen was tense, as was jelena-conchita.

i think the WTA has been riding off the back of 5-7 girls in the last 2-3 years and promoting their personalities at the expense of others. when 2-3 are injured and others lose form, then things get really in a mess.

I usually LOVE Roland Garros, but with this years shitty TV coverage (thanks, ESPN) I really have been out of sorts with it.

In general it was OK - it did not live up to my absolute expectations but I was really glad Serena won. The best match was by far Jen against Serena because they are both such gutsy fighters. In fact I think Jen is the best for just creating great matches. The other quarters were a joke I'm afraid - Pierce just hit a brick wall and was way below par and Monica let herself down. Jen against Jelena was pretty good though.

I think it will be much hotter at Wimbledon with Lindsay back and maybe Martina. The tour would be so much better off if some of these girls could develop a good serve - then maybe the lower ranks can challenge the others. I also think that the lower rank players give the top players way too much respect and should take it to them as if they have nothing to lose and remain positive. Lets face it the early rounds of a grand slam can be so boring!!

In general not bad though, but I am hoping for better things to come over the next few weeks:cool:
