So Rocketta and I went to the open today...it was freezing and I had the nerve to think I was being cute wearing a sun dress...well let me tell you, I froze my tits off..not cute.
Lets get to the tennis..very emotional roller coaster day for me. Sadness and Happiness all rolled into one...thank god for alcohol.
Nicole vs. Jelena
As you can tell from my signature, I LOVE NICOLE  She was horrid, she got so mad because she got broken and from then on could barely keep the ball in play. Jelena was great though, she is really talented, its a shame she can't play like that all the time. Jelena served really well and was very aggressive off her BH. That shot is just "sweet". Nicole is going to come good once she stops being afraid to lose. For the sake of my nerves I hope its soon. Have to mention Jelena's momma...by the looks of her, I fully understand why Jelena wore a caberet outfit to a bar in NYC. As for Jelena, she wears so much makeup that she can barely touch her face when she gets her towel..she really cakes on the face powder. Love her anyway, her dress is really cute...and yes the goodies were still hanging out ;)
Shahar vs. "Popeye"
Thank god Shahar took that beast down. I'm sorry to the Fran fans, but I had to put her on my hate list after she called Serena Brutus. That was totally rude. This match was ridiculous with drama and loud screaming fans to add to the furor. We were quite obnoxious with our loud cheers for Shahar. From the start, they both played this match like they were on clay (not happy about this from Shahar). Fran has a sweet low slice that kept shahar off balance and didnt allow her to hit winners freely. After some really long games, Shahar pulled off the first set. At 2 all in the second, my crew had to leave to go cheer Masha and Aravane on ( I love both) and I returned in the third set. Shahar took it to Fran and stole victory from her grasp with aggressive and fearless play (like she was stealing her fried chicken LMAO). Its not that Fran was bad its just that Shahar went for the first strike every time. After Shahar pulled it to 5 all the crowd was rocking, it was so loud you could barely hear. Fran was pumped up when she held for 6-5 and some folks in the crowd starting cheering for her because they felt sad for her.
Well, the Shahar cheering section (including my loud ass screeming Kadima in a very bad accent) took it to another level and started going crazy after every point that Shahar won. When Shahar finally took the victory, she looked at her entourage and pounded her chest and we all screamed...Shahar you have the heart of a champion soldier :bounce: US Open officials must have known that after such a MAGNIFICENT comeback that Shahar would be mobbed that they sent 3 security guards to pick her up. Shahar was over the moon, she stayed and signed autographs for almost 15 mins. I LOVE this girl :hearts: BTW...Shahars skin is starting to clear up ;)
Patty vs. Bartoli
Patty was just  in the first. She looked worse than me. Her shots were either in the net or long. Thank god she looked cute in her outfit or she might have gotten booed ;) What can I say about Marion? First lets talk about her outfit...its too tight. Every other second she is pulling the skirt down. At one point I yelled to her that if she needed to pull it down every minute then maybe it wasnt the right fit (its the rude New Yorker in me...sorry) She looked like a stuffed sausage and then she had the nerve to have panties under it. Hello, has she heard of thongs or boyshorts. Now onto her game...she had awesome groundies and even that weird stance she has on her serve doesnt deter from the variety and power she gets on her serve. She was outhitting Patty and outsmarting her. She knows how to use the angles and she owns a beautiful angled FH shot. Does anyone know if she still has weirdo Daddy travelling with her. Her and Birnerova have two creepy papas.
Aravane vs. Maria
As some of you may have seen, Aravane was a MAGNIFIQUE!!! In the first set Maria would not change her game plan even though she was getting slaughtered. Its not so much that she got overpowered but that she wasnt playing good defense and was leaving the ball right in Aravane's strike zone. In the second set she tried to come to net and use the drop shot to take advantage of Aravane's limited movement but she could never do it consistently. I blame Thomas for not scouting Aravane properly and arming Maria with a solid game plan. As for Aravane, good things are going to happen for her if she keeps working hard. As I said before she needs to lay off the croissants and get herself a fitness coach. She was hitting so many awesome winners that the crowd was gasping and begging for info about her. I think most people wanted Masha to win because they thought she was cute...even some of the older men around us were talking about how cute Masha's outfit was :)
The End...Folks who have doubt about Aravane Rezai...lay them to rest and welcome to the band wagon :D
