I think she should and probably will (now that she has the money) get very high in the ranking... AT LEAST top 20. What do u guys think?

Possible for sure, but she is going to have to play like she has at the US Open more often

I haven't seen enough of her to be sure. But her results would suggest so. She would need to work on her conditioning a bit before that though.

Hey, she got wins over Groenefeld, Kirilenko, Safarova, Sugiyama, and pushed Vaidisova to 3 sets at RG. Wasn't ridiculous against Sharapova at RG a couple years ago either.
And every slam she entered, she's gone pretty far... The only reason why she's only ranked 90-something (and 150 a few weeks ago) is that until recently she couldnt afford travelling very far (USA...). The money will definitely change a lot.

It will take a few years yet before she hits top 20

Kirilenko, Groenefeld, and Safarova....quite a decent group. She should definately be up there soon enough.

Aravane needs a good coach and a fitness trainer!!!
After that, we can discuss her true potential.
Look at her results since the French...not that impressive

She is going to come GOOD with the right guidance.

She will be TOP30 already next season, and we will see better her chances for more.

Have you seen Rezai play? Probabbly not. I heve seen them both and Rezai's game is far superior to Mirza's, in every dept. especially in mental toughness.
Also Aravene is not the product of hyper-hype.

Comment:
Her father is her coach and after the results of this week he deserves to be congratulated (as I did yesterday after the Kiri match) for the great job he's done. About the trainer, it happens that her mother is a trained professional physiotherapist, which is the best background a trainer can have.
As for her results after RG, this week counts my dear. She is not "going to come good" she has already shown it. Just keep watching.

if Perry is supposed to be in Top20, why not Aravane

come on, people... :o
getting into the Top20 is really tough these days

one surprising fourth round at a major doesnt mean it will automatically be Top20
Rezai definitely has the skills to do so, but her major weakness is being not consistant and the upcoming tournaments will show if she starts being consistant, plus she needs a lot of work on her fitness

The power of her forehand is unbelievable. She's a potentiel top 20 player. But I think that for the moment she can have problem when she will faced girl with the same power. She will hit more arder and will not control her shot.

I agree with Basti

But if Aravane manages to get consistent, and she has been improving greatly on this aspect already this season, Top 20 should be no problem. Trust me, this girl is the real deal ;)

Allez Aravane :rocker:

Plus, I don't think fitness is that big an issue with Aravane. She is not the fittest out there, but she doesn't need to be for the game she plays.

By the way, she said this season she wanted to reach Top 50. And I thought she was crazy for setting herself that goal. But now look at her :worship:

Such self-knowledge ;) Mentally, Aravane is really strong!

For sheer, unbridled power in striking the ball Rezai has few rivals among the newcomers. Maybe only Azarenka.

Of course hitting hard isn't everything - but it's a good start. She can only improve (fitness, tactical skills in building points, and so on). And she's already solid top 50 material, even only with what she has now.

But her wacko dad may and his DIY training methods may prove to be a hindrance to her development in the future. We'll see.

She's too young to predict all the things that can happen to her, but it's not impossible, yeah.
