After being arrested for theft last spring and spending one night in prison in Florida during the Bausch & Lambs Champs she hasn't returned to the US eventhough she is ranked #110 WTA now.

Instead of playing in the last Grand Slam of the year she spent the last few weeks playing clay challengers in Europe so it's possible she is not allowed to re-enter the States.

Anyone knows?

Ya, she wouldn't be allowed to re-enter. Be she is a pro athlete so maybe she can get help from her government.

What was the value of whatever she was charged with stealing? I believe if the value was under $500, she'd have been charged with a misdemeanor, not a felony. A misdemeanor is a much less serious charge. And was she actually convicted of the crime?

As far as I know, it's only convicted FELONS that wouldn't be allowed back in the country.

But if she was convicted of a felony, yes, it's going to be tough for her to get back in. Too bad for her!

If a noncitizen of the US is convicted of a felony in the US, it is difficult to near impossible for them to get a work visa to re-enter the US. If she pleaded guilty to a felony, then she wouldn't be allowed back in the US for some time.
