where's Serena on the poll. I think she's HONESTLY the only person that can beat her right now. Maybe Mash if she keeps up the good form, and gets better, but Justine has WAY too much variety. Serena's doing more things better than anyone else in her half of the draw, so I say Serena.

Probably Ree. She's the one that has athletic ability, power, and fearlessness to beat Justine. Unfortunately I don't think she'll get past Masha. :(

If I have to choose from this list then Maria. But really, there should be other options such as Serena, Amelie, etc.

Justine was not looking good today. Not her gameplay but her negative thinking.
Sometimes she get herself in trouble. After the first set she was breathing quickly. Not a good sign.
Maybe next round 'll be the end for her.

The only one who can stop her is Maria Sharapova. I don't see Serena beating JHH, although I have nothing against that. I will love anyone till a die who beats JHH in this tournament :p

well, justine has clearly the best game at the moment.. she starts all her matches sooo powerful..if she plays that game she will win the tournament.. if she will meet problems i think it will be similar to the ai match..she was up 4-1.. but somehow ai got some important points and was back in th set.. henin suddenly palyed different and made errors.. now she won anyway.. but against a better server it could have been different.. i think thats the only thing that can stop henin, that she loses confidence in the match and not striks the ball..

to say serena can beat justine is to hope to much i think.. justine moves A LOT better, and also hit the ball better at the moment.. but serena is serena, and it would probably be a lot of nerves from both sides in that match.. and yeah, serena is a good server..but will she reach that far?

i think 'i hope) davenport will stop Justine in semis. It's her last chance to win once more in New York.
Juju :wavey: and see you later

Well it would be great if Lindsay and Justine played in the semis but they are drawn to meet in the quater finals. But I still think Lindsay can beat Justine body willing.

Justine might lost a set to Sugiyama, she needs this kind of match to keep stay consistent, and she would be ready to play againts any good players on the road into the title ;)

Mauresmo, Davenport, Serena are capable to beat her, but I think Justine is way better at the moment!

Sharapova...sorry I don't think she chance at all to beat Justine!

IF, I repeat IF, it comes to that, I'd take Mauresmo or Serena against Henin-Hardenne. first they have to get that far. OTOH, Henin-Hardenne would stomp Sharapova.

i think sharapova could possibly stop henin. maria has been playin well of late & has improved her game a lot. she's now a bit more patient in hitting her groudnstrokes & goin 4 for them at the right time. she also has improved her serve a bit as well 2 & finally thinking more intelligently on the court. so she could be the 1. who no's.

but there others who could stop her 2. maybe mauresmo perhaps or serena or even some top ranked russians or davenport.

but the way i'm seeing henin playin right now, she just doesn't look like giving an inch away. not that easy 2 pick some1 who will stop her.

Momo on hardcourts does not match up well against J2H. J2H can hit flatter, and that is important.

That said, Sharapova and Serena match up well against J2H on hardcourts. I just don't think J2H is going to win.

Justine unlike others like playing the Sharapova, Williams sister, and other baseline boomers. She doesn't like playing someon like herself and Amelie didn't really play well against her but beat her in Wimbledon. Repeat.

I would put dementieva as the only chance and thats
only if she is playing well and consistently, which is unlikely deep in a slam
