I posted a big gallery of photos from the first two days of qualies at On The Line (http://www.tennis-ontheline.com (http://www.tennis-ontheline.com/)). If your favorites played on Tuesday or Wednesday, there's a pretty good chance I got a shot of 'em. Also included a few main draw players I spotted on the practice courts...and Marie-Eve Pelletier, who must have been hoping to get in as an alternate.

Good grief. If Natalie Grandin lost a little bit of weight I have no doubt she would be a top 100 player.

Yep, I'll be attending the first four days of the main draw. Probably won't be able to upload anything until I get back home, but I'll be taking notes and lots of pictures, so there should eventually be plenty of content. We've got a couple other guys who might be providing coverage next week as well. In the meantime, there are some possibly interesting tidbits in Tuesday's match report, which is up now.

As for Natalie Grandin, the hefty lefty definitely won over some fans this week. A few people I overheard commenting on what great touch she has gave her a nice ovation after she beat Tati Perebiynis.

Thanks so much for the Brian Vahaly photos :wavey:

He's having shoulder surgery, so very likely the end of his year...possibly the end of his career, although I hope not.

I really like Natalie Grandin. She seems pretty normal -- maybe too normal. It's a shame she is a "hefty lefty" because I think she could be so much better as she does have good touch and excellent volleys. She's had some decent wins in her career but I think if she got stronger the sheer unique quality of her game I think would put her in the top 100. I know Su-Wei is a good player, but I've heard she doesn't have a great serve, and isn't all that powerful, so I don't understand why Natalie lost to her so easily. What a shame since she has a win over Kirsten this year already. I hope she finds herself in the doubles draw -- with a partner other than Claire Curran.

Oh and thanks for the Vahaly photos he's pretty sweet.
