The seeds were announced yesterday and, as usual, it seems some players have a seeding they won't be able to live up to.

This is the list:

1. Amelie Mauresmo, France
2. Justine Henin-Hardenne, Belgium
3. Maria Sharapova, Russia
4. Elena Dementieva, Russia
5. Nadia Petrova, Russia
6. Svetlana Kuznetsova, Russia
7. Patty Schnyder, Switzerland
8. Martina Hingis, Switzerland
9. Nicole Vaidisova, Czech Republic
10. Lindsay Davenport, United States
11. Anastasia Myskina, Russia
12. Dinara Safina, Russia
13. Mary Pierce, France
14. Francesca Schiavone, Italy
15. Anna-Lena Groenefeld, Germany
16. Ana Ivanovic, Serbia
17. Daniela Hantuchova, Slovak Republic
18. Flavia Pennetta, Italy
19. Jelena Jankovic, Serbia
20. Maria Kirilenko, Russia
21. Shahar Peer, Israel
22. Katarina Srebotnik, Slovenia
23. Anna Chakvetadze, Russia
24. Na Li, China
25. Anabel Medina Garrigues, Spain
26. Marion Bartoli, France
27. Tatiana Golovin, France
28. Ai Sugiyama, Japan
29. Jie Zheng, China
30. Venus Williams, United States
31. Nathalie Dechy, France
32. Elena Likhovtseva, Russia

Who do you think is the weakest of these seeds?

The names in the poll were chosen based on pretty crappy results. If you disagree with these names, choose other and tell us who you voted for :D

Seeds that are upset-prone in the 1st round:

Kirilenko :bigcry:
Lichowcewa
Pietrowa
Czakwetadze & Myskina (injured)
Pierce (when I saw her in San Diego she was heavily taped)

Question:

Why do you write all Russian players' names in Polish, but don't do that with Iwanowycz? :p

Question:

Why do you write all Russian players' names in Polish, but don't do that with Iwanowycz? :pHow many times did you ask about Russian names? 20? :tape:
Btw It'd be Iwanowić... but definitely not Iwanowycz

Not twenty. Maybe three. But you never give a logical answer. Like now, you do not respond to the question.

A different poster from Poland said it would be Iwanowycz on MTF :) But still, Iwanowić is different from Ivanovic.

But Russian names become Czakwetadze  :retard: You are a racist :D

Actually, Czakwetadze is not a Georgian name. Chakvetadze is.

Makes names Polish is retarded enough as it is, but applying it to only Russian (and Georgian :retard: :tape: :o) names makes it even more retaraded.

This is an English-language forum. If I were to start writing all names in Dutch, it would make no sense either  Koesnetsova. Dementjeva. Goebaksie.

Kuzniecowa does not look like Kuznetsova.

Dexter is not stupid. He knows the English names. It can't be that it is easier for him.

Plus, I don't see any other Poles do it, so why do you refer to 'us'?

I would say Medina Garrigues but I can understand why Likhovtseva has the most votes (for now).

sfselesfan
Aug 23rd, 2006, 04:18 PM
I think Myskina is, because she is injured. She's basically admited to being weak in that she's thinking about not playing. She lost in New Haven to the Lucky Loser. I hate to say it but she has to have my vote compared to the other healthy players.

I say Petrova...only because weakness is relative, and for her to be losing the way she is to the players that she's been losing to...that makes her the weakest to me
