I saw this movie a couple days ago and it was great. Let me say that it is very hard to make a horror/suspense movie nowadays since so many have already been done, the plots are so far fetched, and the overabundance of special effects. I love this movie. It goes to show that all the good horror/suspence movies come from foreign countries like japan and now england.

Yeah it was good. A horror movie should be nothing more. There was no attempt to develop a real story, so all was concentrated on the horror, in which they succeeded very well. A brainless, disgusting movie, and that's just what this kind of movie should be IMO. I hated the ending though!

i thought it was good too :)

i agree that japan make the best horror movies-they always seem to get the atmosphere right and the plot isnt always about 2 teens in love  i recommend Lady Vengeance (it reminded me of a French film in the way it was filmed-think Amelie but with more violence), A Tale of Two Sisters, The Ring, The Grudge (the Japanese version is so much better than the American one) and Ichi the Killer (so bloody gory!!!)

Neither Lady Vengeance nor A Tale of Two Sisters were Japanese. They were Korean.

the ending in the states was that the girl who lost her husband and daughter manages to be the only one who escapes. after driving for a couple miles, it ends with her being startled by the girl who had an affair with her husband in the passenger seat. it makes no sense because the one who had an affair with her husband had to have been killed by the creatures and she could not have escaped the cave in time to reach the car and that could not have been her ghost because its a theme that was not even explored during the movie. i try to think that movie ended after the one who lost her husband and child just escaped the cave.

It makes sense with the original ending. The other girl turning up signals that the girl who escaped was hallucinating the escape and was actually still down the cave playing chess(?) with her imagined dead daughter, and was content with sitting there while the creepy things were scuttling about.

The movie is really well done, and I rather it very highly but its very bleak in the end, I was really hoping for a happy ending...

Its shame the movie didn't do better at the box office here...I think it was out around the time of the London bombings and people weren't in the mood for such an intense horror movie then.

Good one, nice story, could have developed a bit more on the creatures though....with the drawings and stuff. Also many questions raised by the viewers regarding the origin of the creatures, the animal graveyard....and the whole adventure being just a dream (basically the dream begins when she find herself in the hospital)

(SPOILER!)

Forgot to mention, I though it was a shame too that cute Irish lass was the first to get killed, and it such a gruesome way too...

What needed to happen was me turn up at the hut, persude her to forget about all this silly caving stuff and run away with me instead. A happy ending! ;)
