the us open 2006 will bring to end the retirement of japans shinobu asagoe! it seems poetic that shino choose the usopen as her farewell tournament, as it bought her best grandslam result! shino reached her one and only qf in new york in 2004!,with wins over suarez, smashnova, and danillidou! she made the 3rd in 2000,2003 and last year! all the best for your last tournament shino! you will be missed by many tennis fans worlwide! congratulations on a fantastic career. :) :hatoff:

 So unfair ... she is such a delightful player and her personality on and off court cannot be matched by anyone. Just one of the most humble, and spirited players to ever grace the court.

The tour will be very different and much less charismatic and friendly without her  I hope she goes far :D

I will definitely miss Shinobu's personality  It's too bad she wasn't in Montréal

I hope you do well in your last tournament, Miss Asagoe!
