moving out

Hey all, I need some advice.

Well, I am moving out for a year for graduate school. All of my registration at the school went smoothly. Now, my only concern is my new home. To make a long story short, in early July I got into contact with someone who rents out 3 houses for students near the university. It was tough to get a room because the homes look to buld a special spirit and thus references and an essay were required. I know for a fact that the manager is extremely honest (running the homes through a university club). In early July I was contacted that I had been chosen for one of the remaining rooms. Unfortunately for me now I have not been contacted as of the 18th of Aug. about anything with respects to the house. The last conversation I had with the manager was him congratulating me in early July. Now, I am just super worried that a mistake was made, or something else happened, and they gave my room away to someone else. While I could just call (In fact, that would be the smartest thing to do) I am scared that I might find out something that I don't want to hear. What do you'll think of this?

Well, its better to find out now, rather than after you arrive, so you need to call the manager and get the 411:

"Hey, I hadn't heard from you guys, and thought I'd call and verify my housing arrangements."

Were there financial arrangements that needed to be met by a certain date???

If the housing fell threw, contact student services who might be able to refer you someplace else.

No money or information about money arrangments was ever set up. Do you think I can still get good housing close to Campus this late?

Well, I don't know what kind of housing is available. However, you need to call the manager and find out where you are in the process, in or out.

I don't know whether good housing options are available this late. Student Services should be able to help. There's always people that back out at the last minute or don't show, so you may still have good options.

If he doesn't call you back on Monday, you need to be looking for other living arrangements.
