Yikes. Come on, Shahar, you're better than this. Okay, so it's not clay anymore, but I didn't think Shahar's results would drop off this drastically on other surfaces. Her game seems like it should translate somewhat effectively to me, so I think Steffica Greles is right about the pressure of expectations getting to her.

I saw Shahar play Safina at Amelia Island, had a great seat, early round match, and let me tell you it was terrible. She got behind and just folded up, could hardly hit a ball in, cowering on the defensive, and I was thinking, this chick was an Israeli soldier?? You got to woman up out there if you want to go far in this sport and it seems she has real trouble doing that some days...

Oh Shahar... :sad: dissapointing...
But I think it's too early to say that she has nothing to show just as it was too early to say after the French Open that she will be a big player.
I hope she will learn of those loses and improve :)

I agree completely. She has her best result in a slam, then changed coaches, sucked on grass, changed coaches again, and now isn't doing so hot on hard courts.
Peer may be better or more comfortable on clay but she is better than this.
